Extremely rude staff. If you want to keep a remnant of human dignity, you should avoid this place!

Worth the money $170 pesos (US $8.96). we went late afternoon and not very busy. Neat to see ocean creatures up close and not feel rushed to move out of another persons way. Sad the dolphins are nonlonger there which was a main draw for me, but still a relaxing time.

Aquarium.... on boulevard Camacho, alongside the gulf. Total complex loctaed inside an air conditioned mall, lots of small shops, VIPs restaurant and several other options for eating.. (good food) Located next door is the cities most popular beach.... playa del Mar.... tables, chairs, umbrellas, food and refreshments..Whether it be the beach, or air conditioning your looking for, its a great place to spend some time, especially on a hot day!

lovely aquarium, great viewing, was crowded, very popular with locals(Xmas eve), affordable, walkable for seniors and strollers, no shows(that I know of), clever layout, can be done in as little as one hour, if necessary, not huge.

We weren't sure about going to the Aquarium (Acuario) in Veracruz but we did and we had a really good time. It was larger than we expected and you go from room to room and there's much to learn and see. To get there you need to walk along the malecon or walkway that heads south from the center of town. I will guess it's a full mile there or close to two KMs. Walking along the malecon was nice but we were there in November so it was only warm and not terribly hot. The aquarium is set in a huge facility with some other sites including shopping and dining and more. You had to pay but it was less expensive for both the young and old. Although we are gringos they gave us the old folks price. The sharks were interesting to watch and so were the dolphins on the top level and we got there just in time for a show. There were lots of different sea creatures to watch and some videos and posters with information. It was very worthwhile and we were glad we visited it.

The aquarium is a great place to spend some time while you are visiting Veracruz, it´s ideal for family trips because it offers entertainment for everyone, the admission fee isn´t expensive and if you are a teacher, student, or elder (over 60 years old) you can get a discount. Plus, it offers the opportunity to feed the sharks while you are immerse inside a glass cage. There are also other attractions at the mall where the aquarium is located such as the wax museum where you will see some of the most representative mexican characters as well as some international icons like the beattles and President Obama.

The acquarium houses many interesting fishes, including several types of sharks, electric rays, dolphins, manatees, reef fishes and big turtles. The acquiarium is in excellent conditions, very clean and with activities for children. We've spent 3 hours there without even noticing... In March 2011 an adult ticket costed 95 pesos, but it's worth it.
Another tip - we liked a lot the ice-cream shop in the acquarium shopping center, very good quality of ice-cream and clean.

We came to Verazruz via ship and had some time off so decided to check out this place as we saw online reviews saying that the dolphin show is an absolute must. So we visited the website to find out ticket prices and show timings. After all our research, when we reached the Aquarium, we found out that the dolphin show was closed for the month due to maintenance. This information was not put up online. Hence, the 3 stars. Otherwise, we enjoyed the other aquatic life we got to see, especially the penguins.

One of the oldest aquariums in Mexico. Used to be the largest in Latin America. It starts with a room where the local wild life is shown. Then you will get into the fishbowls with several kinds of species, locals, nationals and internationals. There is two great spots here: The oceanic room, which is a 360 tank and you can see the wide ocean species swimming around you. Impressive. The other spot is the shark tank, it has a tunnel where you will see the sharks coming in front of your eyes and above your head. They also have a penguin tank, a dolphin tank and a "Manati" tank, which is a endemic specie... beautiful!
