We have went out with this team (Hector & Enrique) several times and I have NEVER been skunked. Each time, each person on the trip has caught at least one huge sailfish and more. This latest time, 2/8/2020, I was worried. It did take a while and I though this might be the time, but Hector will find the fish, and he did. It took about 3 hours but 2 hours was just getting 25+ miles out to sea.

Once we started getting bites, IT WAS ON. Two sailfish at the same time! My mother took "the chair" and they strapped a portable holder on my father while he was trying to reel in a huge sailfish. Shortly after that, my son caught another, followed up by me. We caught several Bonita (Tuna) and Hector asked if we'd like to try our luck at something else, and we did.

Closer back to shore, we were catching Barracuda hand over fist. We eventually returned to shore basically worn out from the day and totally satisfied with the adventure.

I must say again, this is not the first time Hector has pulled the rabbit (or fish) out of the hat. We have been out many times and Hector and Enrique and they have ALWAYS DELIVERED! Also, thanks to Alex for his meticulous coordination of our adventures each time.

I thoroughly recommend this charter over all others in Cancun. Check them out. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

First time going deep sea fishing. Captain Hector with his crew Eduardo and Even (Ethan?) They got us on bored and we took some pictures and headed out. November gave us some beautiful sunrise pictures over the ocean.

The wind was a little high and my wife took sea sickness pills but it was still too much for her. The crew started us fishing and we were killing it. I felt like as soon as we got a fish in another one was ready. Incredible fishing! Nothing too huge because we were out of season for things like Marlin and Sailfish. Still awesome to bring in barracuda and a few other things.

Wife was just too sick though and patches and wrist bands just weren't cutting it so we shortened the trip to 4 hours to save my wife from dying lol. The crew was very kind and helpful to my wife. They seemed sad to stop fishing since the day was going so well. But they were awesome. Their English was just fine and we had nice chats coming back in.

When I come back to Cancun, I'm coming back during a bigger sportfish season and I'm sending my wife to get her nails done and a massage while I fish! :)

I will definitely be using these guys again. They are truly fishing experts and their experience can be seen. Thank you guys for some amazing memories!

I will say this deep-sea fishing experience is a bit pricey, but so worth it! The communication to book was super easy! We went on a Monday (Jan 4) and the captain and crew suggested it was going to be a great day for fishing because of the wind direction and not really concerned with the weather so keep that in mind! The day we went was super windy, so the waves were a bit rougher but defiantly take some motion sickness pills beforehand!
Once we got to the dock at 7am, had to check in, the captain started the journey and asked what we wanted to catch and what area was suggested to get the best catch. We decided to do sailfish and barracudas, so captain said it was going to be about an hour of a drive to get to the location. Midway through the destination, they stop and start catching small live fish for bait. Once we arrived at our fishing destination, my mother did get seasick, so the crew tried their best to soothe her but also made sure my dad and I were catching fish. She did get way to sick because the waves were intense that day (no fault to the crew, just the weather) so we had to cut our fishing trip early. But from when we cut our fishing trip early, we still had a great time and caught many fishes within a short time frame that we were giving. Wish we could have gone the full 6 hours, but maybe next time. I would highly consider renting this boat again for deep sea fishing adventures.

I set up our fishing trip because I had so much fun fishing down here in Cancun 4 years ago, though with a different company. This time, I looked online and read reviews and decided to go with Kianah's Sportfishing. I wasn't aware I had set us up with a private trip. I thought the price was appropriate for the time I chose, and I was not disappointed and will absolutely do this again. We didn't have to share and take turns reeling in the fish with numerous other people.
They had been in contact right after I set up the trip, before we even left for our vacation verifying they received my reservation. The day before the trip, they texted to verify and confirm again, which I appreciated.
They were all very professional and knew what they were doing. Our day was very windy and wavy, which I loved. It was sooo fun! The waves were insane to me (I only know of waves from Lake Michigan of the Great Lakes and they are not like it was today).
For the first time I had a little bit of sea sickness, and they were concerned but I was ok and gave me water which helped greatly.
We had caught some (to me) HUGE Amberjack and tuna. I'm from the fresh water of the Great Lakes, specifically Lake Michigan, so salt water fish are huge, beautiful and fascinating to me. I had so much fun but my arm was getting tired and wanted my fiance to take over but they were supportive and kept me going reeling my fish in, and I did! What an awesome feeling!!
They try very hard to find you the fish for the season but of course nothing is guaranteed. We didn't catch what we wanted, but we gained a huge amount of experience and sometimes that itself is priceless.
We come to Cancun every 2 years, unless a pandemic pops up again and shuts down the world. We will absolutely go with Kianah's again for at least a 6 hour fishing trip.
Many, many thanks to our captain and crew!!

They asked us if we wanted our fish to eat but we both thought to give it to the crew.. I don't like sea food, and the idea of anything going to waste is sad and if they can use the food, the better I feel.

Thank you again for a great trip!🥰

I scheduled our trip and asked for vertical jigging and bottom fishing and got neither. We left the dock late after showing up the day before to checking things out, verify our trip and meet the crew. Once on the dock we were upsold a bigger boat which we stated we reserved a trip, no one ever called us back and we wanted to make sure they were in business. We left the dock, went to catch bait and were on site by 9:30AM. By 9:35AM we were hooked up to a 300+ lbs bull shark which was fun for 30 minutes. After 1 hour knowing we weren't going to.keep it we asked to cut the line and were told that we could only cut the leader. We continued the fight in 15' - 20' seas until we landed it 2.5 hours later. Our fun 8 hour booking ended at 11:55am and we asked to head back as a first time open sea fisherman fought sickness from the time we hooked up to the bull shark until we got near the docks. The crew was awesome but I believe we were put on sharks as that was all that they talked about without regard to what we paid for. We tipped the crew $150.00 US, the booking cost $820.00 for a total cost of $970.00 US. I will never do that again. I've fished the ocean many times in each coast and this is the first time that I've felt taken advantage of. What I mean is the loss of an experience with my son and new son in-law which could have been memorable. When no one called me back I should have stayed with our resort as all trips with them.have be wonderful. One last thought, all during the 2.5 hour fight, the captain kept showing us the brochure to have the fish mounted for $2,500.00. We told him we didn't want to keep a shark but eat some fish for dinner with my daughter and wife which didn't happen.

Hi Dean, First and foremost, I would like to thank you for using our services. I apologize if things were not up to your expectation the morning you fished with us. *You fished with us (November 16th 2021) booking #3312 Somethings are accurate in your review but others are not (I apologize for contradicting your claim) We’ve been in the sport fishing business for over 20 years and we do not work with travel agencies or fishing brokers. Therefore we ask for all requests in writing, and we keep them to ensure an optimal experience. At the end of the trip the crew write logs and keep records of the day. Further, we keep reminding our guests that are in no way shape or form obligated to take something that they do not want. We try our best to ensure our crew create memorable experiences. I am listing your claims: *Being up sold a bigger boat by our crew. *your request for bottom fishing, and vertical jigging. *15 to 20 foot seas. *Taxidermy and sharks. *expecting a call back from the person you book a trip from. As you mentioned, you visited the marina the day previous to your trip, around roughly 11:00 Am. The crew of the Kianah spoke with you and showed you around. Shortly after looking at the boats, you spoke with Hector and Eddy. You told them that you were booked on the bigger boat and you stated $820.00 for an 8hr charter on the ‘SAILFISH RUN’. *The confirmation you received clearly states Kianah or Grand Slam. You trimmed the confirmation and only left your name and address of the place. Why did you take the boat assigned in writing? From July 31st to December 1st we have an off-season rate because we do not have billfish in the area. That applies for the Kianah and Grand Slam only, and that falls into your rate of $820.00. Hector called to inform me that one of the guests for the next days trip was at the marina, and kept saying that he was booked on the sailfish run, insisted it was booked for him, and that he is only paying $820.00, and that he wanted to speak with me. *We started talking, and I kept telling you that the rate is $1050.00 for an 8hr on the Sailfish Run. You kept saying what, what and asking for me to repeat myself as if you could not understand. Believing we may not have a good connection, I said “let me call right back” and tried to call again. When I called back, I asked hector to pass the phone over to you. He said that the customer had already left, and told me that you said that it was fine for him to take the bigger boat tomorrow. I had a family booked for that boat the next morning, and I had to call one of our friends to use their boat to take them because you claimed to have the boat. *During your visit nothing was ever mentioned about your fishing requests. Only the bigger boat. Even though, I did not approve the Sailfish Run for your trip it was taken anyway, we did not charge you the extra amount for taking the bigger boat. That despite having to still find another business in the area able to accommodate the other group. The day of the trip, the transportation that your group arranged arrived late. Before paying for the charter, you were given a reminder and it clearly states that communication is key and makes everything clear. *Styles of fishing *Keeping fish *Fish mounts *Pictures *Short trips or mid trip cancelations *Tips and gratuities, and reminded you that you need to voice your request with the crew when you get your briefing onboard. At the bottom of the form next to the signing line it clearly states. THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE TO CANCEL OR BACK OUT OFF YOU RESERVATION. if you wish to continue… let's go fishing. The reminder states. *You fishing in a boat that has a dedicated crew (not with the person you booked your trip) even though the crew are give instructions about your particular request. We encourage guests to communicate their requests to the crew onboard in order to best facilitate them, and to ensure optimal experience.. *In relation to the claim of 15 to 20 foot seas, it is not possible for that to be the case. In the event that the waves reach lengths of 5ft or higher, the port authority will have restrictions for any boats under 40’ for offshore navigation. *Bait and switched? You came looked at a bigger boat and pushed to have a boat not assigned for you at a much lower rate. You were not up sold, baited and switched! You simply chose a bigger boat! You were not charged any additional money than what you were confirmed ($820.00 off-season rate) * You requested vertical jigging and bottomfishing. I would like to thank you for posting your own pictures, you clearly show and the pictures made a good point, that there is barely a ripple on the water, which is being handled effortlessly by the bigger boat you took, also we can clearly see the light tackle, They are brand new Avet LX 6.0 and the rods are so thin and light that they look like bass rods. These are the best rigs for bottom fishing! *These are Your own pictures contradicting your claim, That our soul intention was to target sharks. When fishing in Cancun with fast moving currents at 180-300Ft depths, the crew will target fish from the bottom, grouper, snappers and amberjacks etc. and when they get hooked, shark picks them up and eat them as you guys are fighting them, isn't that what happened? You guys caught a few amberjacks, brought back a few partially eaten fish. (By sharks) to the marina. That is the definition of bottom fishing. The Crew used live bait hopping for Grouper and snappers.. *Taxidermy. "In the form you signed before heading out It says" The crew will ask if you want to mount the fish before the fish is pulled out of the water as we want to make a quick release and minimize the mortality of the species. We will help you measure and take pictures with your catch. We have a few contracts on the vessels if you wish to continuewith it so please read the contract. These services are rendered by a third party provider and we do not assume responsibility for the creation, processing and/or shipping and crating of these mounts. You will be signing a binding contract with an American company called Gray Taxidermy from Pompano Beach Florida. (You are not obligated if you don't want it!) *Kianah's Sportfishing Cancun is in no way affiliated with the service. The wording is more like a warning, than a selling point! when handling sharks, we bring them near the transom and have pictures or video and the leader is cut, we do not bring them onboard as they are more dangerous to handle than Billfish. We have a bunch of pictures and videos handling sharks on FB doing exactly that. *Expecting a call from me? At the end of each trip I usually have a conversation with the crew, ask how everything went, catch, guests issues and I ask if the guests tipped. (Not Tipping is a big red flag ) Going back to the reminder signed (*Tips and gratuities, it states) Gratuities are not included on any of the rates. Please keep in mind that it is not an obligation to tip, It is an incentive that reflects the service and effort provided to the customer, It is at your discretion. *Your own words, The crew is amazing, you tipped them $150.00 for such a great job. That tells me that they worked and did their job as expected and everything was ok with the trip, you cut the trip short. *The Reminder coats. Use the boat as you paid for a period of time or till the time is up. We suggest, island cruising, sightseeing etc, the option is there. As you mentioned you guys are new to open sea fishing (deep sea fishing) I apologize if you guys got seasick, it is something very new to you guys. In regard to your comment about being ‘bait and switched’ you came to the marina, looked at a bigger boat and pushed to have a boat not assigned for you at a much lower rate. I had you booked on the Kianah as it seem to be the most requested boat for the styles of Fishing you had requested. You spoke with Hector and you told him that you were fishing on a totally different boat. By turning down the Kianah you simply passed on the best crew for the job, but it was you choice! *We take guests issues seriously. On the same reminder it states at the bottom. PS. If you have any any questions, comments or complaints at the end of your trip, please let us know right away. you didn’t call to report your discontent how do I supposed to guess that there is been an issue? We are in the customer service business, talk to us as you finish your trip, not weeks later on a public forum. Once again I apologize for your experience. Thank you. Alex.

We had an extraordinary deep sea fishing experience with Kianah's in our trip to Cancun. My husband was so looking forward to this fishing trip and was not disappointed he caught a Barracuda while my teenage daughter caught a ~13 Kg Wahoo!! so beautiful. The sea was a bit rough but Mauro did a great job cruising the big waves; we definitively recommend this company. Thank You so much!

I booked an eight hour fishing trip and we had a blast! We started out by catching two sail fish and then went bottom fishing and had nonstop action. I have fished with Kianah's before and we caught lots of fish and I will be back again. If you are thinking about fishing, I highly recommend Kianah's! Captain Edgar knew right where to go and the crew, Eden and Pedro were great! I have fished with Eden before in the past and we shared some pictures. I can't thank Captain Edgar enough for a great time and we enjoyed fresh fish at the resort where they prepared it for us. Thank you, Kianah's and I look forward to fishing with you again.

We met at 6:30 AM for a day of sailfishing. I have been out sailfishing with 5 others outfitters from different marinas over the past 15 years. This was the best one by far. We boated 8 sailfish and lost 3 at the boat. Had 3 doubles and one triple on this trip. Caught the largest fish of my life then broke that record an hour later.
Hector was the boat captain and he was excellent at locating, boat maneuvering and chasing down the fasted fish in the ocean.
Edwardo was first mate and was fluent in English, and was on point for transitioning and setting lines.
Eden was masterful at handling the sailfish once onboard and was happy to be out. fishing for sure

This crew knew where to go, and what to do once there. Highly recommend you book your next deep sea fishing trip here. Rest your arms…..sailfish are no joke!!!

There were 4 of us that went fishing 2/8. The adults had fished with these guys 3 times previously, it was the first time for the teen. They did not disappoint! We all caught sailfish along with tuna and barracuda. Hector, Enrique and Eden did a great job. They helped the teenager get his fish in and were just as happy as Marco was. We definitely recommend them and we WILL be back!

Great interaction with Alex leading up to the two charters we booked. Luis and Arturo were our captains and Franklin and Juan were mates on both trips. Fantastic experience while on board. Captains were communicating with other boats and had their own notepads with their ‘special-spot’ coordinates scribbled down. Mates were very experienced and went about prepping gear, baits and lures on the way to the grounds so there was no down time. Our shorter bottom fishing trip was successful with lots of snapper and a Trigger fish. The second trip we did was 8 hours and it exceeded expectations. Franklin had tossed a single line out while cruising to the sailfish grounds, once Arturo slowed the boat approaching ‘the spot’ a Wahoo immediately took it and we had it in the hold within a few minutes. Bait was plentiful and a few live sardines were sent out… within an hour, we had 2 beautiful sailfish which were respectfully released to maintain the stocks for future generations. Arturo then recommended we hit some structures that were producing. We opted to follow this advice and proceeded to catch over 50 jack fish including some AJ’s. Highly recommend Luis/Arturo and their mates Franklin and Juan. Very professional and obviously experienced in their trade. Thank you for always having a fish on the end of the line and a cerveza in my hand. Wonderful hospitality while on board.
