Yamil Lu'um or the Scopion's Temple is a small Mayan ruin that sits perched above the beach right in the hotel zone between the Westin Lagunamar and the Park Royal. It's also right across the street from La Isla Mall. We stayed at the Beach Palace, so we just walked down the beach, about a 5 minute walk with young... More

Super small ruins with 1 sign that has a general explanation of the ruin. Overall, it was cool to see. However, definitely small. We did see 2 iguanas after some searching. Getting there was kind of a pain. It looked like the only access was through hotels. We were stopped by a guard at a hotel. After explaining what we... More

Right on the beach at the Westin Laguna Mar. It's small, but it is still interesting. Lots of iguanas make this place home, it must be because of the beautiful view of the beach and ocean!

This is a cool but small Mayan temple right on the beach right in the Zona Hoteleria in Cancun. The whole thing was about the size of our hotel room. We were staying next door at Live Aqua; I walked to the front entrance of the Westin, and the security guard escorted me to the site. It is pretty neat... More

This is a nice small ruins next to the Westin Hotel. You must stop at the front desk or the gate to let them know you are going there. They will either tell you where to go or have someone escort you there. The ruins have a beautiful site of the beach and very limited picture taking opportunities as there... More

Great place to visit is you want to see and photograph Iguanas, the best place to see them is a small wooded area below the ruin's with access from the beach. You get to the temple ruin's via the hotel and when at the top there are excellent views of the beach and coastline.

My wife and I visited Yamil Lu'um twice. The first time, we visited in the afternoon and were ran off by the iguanas. The next day, I got up early and walked around with no problem. I took my wife back and there were larger iguanas, but I made her see it. Through the heat, it was a nice visit... More

Small Mayan ruin by the Westin Lagunamar. Not much to see as far as the ruin goes, but has a great view of the ocean. Also, inhabited by numerous iguanas. The Westin offers an experience where you can feed the iguanas

People love the view at Tulum but this is a beautiful view of the Sea from the highest perch in Cancun. Was a Temple and has some beautiful columns, walls are still strong Alters still apparent and steps in good condition. Seems like it may have been a maritime landmark. Stop by the Westin for entrance. They are spectacular there.
