We were recommended to go here to try to be like a local. We walked around the mercado several times and in our ventures , my wife bought an embroidered blouse, and after circling the mercado a few times, we figured it was not for us, so we left. This place is nowhere as large as mercado 28

This market has better priced souvenirs than most other markets in Cancun. More importantly, it is where the locals go to buy a lot of their supplies and a wide variety of household items. There are shops for wedding gowns, piñata shops, and all sorts of other things. There is even a shop that makes those wonderful tortillas that are... More

My husband and I booked a private food tour of Mercado 23 and were greeted by a local chef. We are both foodies, and when we told others we went here, everyone seemed surprised since it's not a tourist location, which was the whole reason we wanted to go. We loved seeing all the fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and trying... More

If your looking to go to Market 28, and take the R2... do not let them tell you that the bus driver dropped you off at Market 28. Go 3 blocks north on the left. Had tons of fun

If you want to really get a feeling of the Mexican way of live, then this is the place to go. There are all sorts of stores but mostly fresh food. If you are staying in Cancun and are planning to prepare your own meals, then you should go to Mercado 23 to do your shopping. It is a lot... More

The prices are good. The food was excellent and good quality. We wanted seafood, and it was a good place to get it.

You can get here by taking a bus from the hotel zone, take Bus route 1 and ask the driver to get you off near by Mercado (Market) 23. This is how a mexican market looks like, you may find here souvenirs, fresh fruits and vegetables, mexican toys, mexican candy and flowers for example. Also there are many places where... More

It's a get away from the American eateries and serves real mexican seafood. It's our favorite place to eat.

At the hotel we had excellent Farmer Cheese at the buffet, I asked the cooks and waiters where is the best place to buy, they said take R2 and go to Mercado 23 where the people of Cancun buy groceries, the bus dropped as in a Cancun busy road, we crossed narrows streets and get there asking people about the...
