We found this company on the internet highly recommended since we were looking for a private tour in order to get away from the cruise ship crowds. We were set up with Miguel and he was fantastic. Couldn’t ask for a more enthusiastic, genuine person to take us out. Some of the reefs have been closed for a few months due to coral infections and Miguel knew just where to take us instead. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

I was referred to Manta Raya Divers 10 years ago by a good friend, so pleased
I went with his recommendation. This was my fourth time diving with Fernando and his crew. He is an excellent guide and dive master, not to mention a lovely person.
If you are thinking of visiting this amazing island and are looking for a great dive operation, look no further! Thank you Fernando and Sammy for another amazing trip!

We are avid snorkelers and certified divers. We looked around for a private snorkel tour because we wanted something more private, local and eco than what the cruise excursion could provide. We found Manta Raya online and Fernando was great. Super informative and responsive to our questions.
Our guide was Miguel who was fantastic. He was not only an enthusiastic and informative snorkeler and free diver, but he was passionate about protecting the reef. Other dive companies cast fish food to lure them to the snorkelers. I was relieved that this was discouraged by Miguel. He instead plucked some seaweed from nearby and used that as a natural lure. Brilliant!
A few members of our party have never taken a guided snorkel tour and they said this experience exceeded all their expectations. We saw turtles, a variety of fish, rays... even a nurse shark! Thank you Fernando and Miguel.This was an unforgettable experience and we hope to tour with you again one day.

Such an amazing experience with Fernando and his crew. Had amazing dives and saw so much with his excellent service. Would highly recommend and will always dive with Fernando when in Cozumel!!!

We spoke with Fernando of of Manta Raya whom we met years ago and actually certified us for scuba diving back in 2010. He organized a team to take my family and I out snorkeling for the day and it was absolutely fantastic. They were very informative, friendly and made the day a huge success. They took us to some of the most beautiful places. We saw sting rays, sea turtles, starfish and so much more. Thank you Fernando and your entire team. We will be back.

From the start, it was a good experience. Fernando, who runs Mantaraya Divers, was very communicative by email, and we set things up before leaving on our cruise. When we arrived at the port, we took a short taxi ride over to the Marina, and Fernando, Miguel, and the captan were there waiting for 8 of us. They were well organized, and we left right away. While we were going to the first reef on our guide, Miguel told us about the rules of the reef and showed us pictures of the fish we might see. You could tell he was very passionate about the reefs and it's inhabitants, and truly loves his job.
The equipment was decent, and we went to three different snorkel spots. We saw some amazing sea life, and I had an eye-to-eye moment with a sea turtle. We stopped to eat the provided lunch on a sandbar. This trip was one of the highlights of our vacation. Miguel (the guy diving into the photo at the sandbar) really made the excursion special. I would highly recommend Mataraya.

Superb morning spent with Fernando and Sammy. Unlike other dive companies, Fernando decides which sites to do on the morning, ensuring you get the best possible dive, with as few other dive boats doing the same one. People come back year on year to dive with Fernando, and we saw why. Thankyou!!

I met Fernado of Manta Raya 20+ years ago at Le Ceiba Hotel. he started his own shop at about that time. he his a smooth expert Master who treats all his divers with aplomb while giving both beginners and experts with excellent training. He stays away from the crowded madness of the large shops. His knowledge of the area is unsurpassed. He has one very nice fast boat. he never follows the crowd,and usually has one or two very good divers,who keep coming back, you might run into if you book with him. He charges a bit more for his services that is well worth the money. If you want an authentic long time Master who provides and goes out of his way to give you the best he's your man
If you ask his driver Sammy he will bring the best fresh cerviche you have ever tasted the likes of. He never farms you out to other guides. It's a one man
shop. Underwater he helps all his guests in an almost Zen like manner that makes you better than you were while giving you confidence and a most enjoyable dive.

We have snorkeled in many exotic destinations, and was high on our list for Cozumel.
Fernando Gonzolas did not disappoint. All the pre trip planning and communication was easy and everything .. EVERYTHING that we discussed by email was exactly expected..the meeting time, the place, the lunch, the boat that took us out, the snorkeling equipment, and equally important the 2 guys that take you out. Really professional; not run by a bunch of kids. Highly recommend. And the snorkeling was fantastic. I won't spoil the discovery. We did 3 reefs, and had a beach lunch beach, We saw everything you read about on the internet! . Coolest thing - is the experience of DRIFT snorkeling. These pros, they know where the best reef and parts of the reefs are, where to put you in the water, and where the current will take you. No need to worry about anything while you are out there. Awesome Day! Thank you Fernando!!

You don't want to visit Cozumel without diving or snorkeling with Manta Raya - Fernando and Sammy. We come here often and our experience with them is always top notch. Fernando picks the best sites and times to avoid the crowds and makes us feel like we are the only ones diving! He is great at accommodating divers of various levels of experience so everyone has a wonderful time. We wouldn't dive with anyone else!!

I am almost certified had a injury just before the baptism , is it needed? The certification?

You can dive without been certified, but you are limited to 12m/40ft and will need to take a discover scuba class. If you ask for a referral letter at the place you took the classes, then you can finish the open water training dives with us and be certified in awesome Cozumel water with us!

Our prices are $92.00 for 2 tank dive adventure tour, $52 and $75 for snorkel adventure tours, includes tax and other gov fees. Hope to hear from you!
