We booked through a local cooperative for $25 per person. There were seven of us. There was some current as others have mentioned, but nothing too bad. LOTS of fish and surprisingly quite a bit of coral. Definitely worth a trip if you have the time and like snorkeling.

If you want an authentic snorkeling tour to Isla Mujeres with lunch and lots of snorkeling, go to the Port of Juarez and Find Captain Santos and Martin! His boat is named Shirley and it’s just a little old fishing boat but it can sure show you a good time!

Depending on the size of your party Captain Santos will cut you a fair deal for an unforgettable day on the water! If you’re like us and you don’t want a big boat with a ton of other drunk people snorkeling around you find the Captain!!!

Tell him Andres, Lalo, Melissa and Jamie sent you!

We will never forget the 2 days of our trip spent with Captain Santos and Martin! We love you Santos!!
PS - DON’T forget the beer!!!

Lots of fishes and an easy, interesting swim. Enough structure to attract fish and make the visit interesting

Plenty of dive shops will take you out to this small reef, perhaps only a mile off Playa Centro. It's a quick and easy way to get in some nice snorkeling without having to go very far.

Not very much to see in the way of fish and coral. It's a drift snorkel and the weather can be a little rough at times. If you haven't snorkeled before you may find it okay.

The drift snorkel experience is a great one to have while on the island. There are so many options to hook up with a tour operator. We did ours through the collective and liked that approach. They are somewhat open and flexible compared to some other tours. The boat looked like something out of a character book but it handled the current and the waves just fine. We left from Pier 7 and enjoyed a few cokes beforehand to get energy. The drifting was amazing and we saw so much. The current was fast that day with the breeze so the trip was faster than the 2 hours but so worth it. Free advice WEAR REEF PROOF SUNSCREEN ON YOUR BOTTOM.

Drifting all along the ref back to the lighthouse allowed us to see more colourful fish than ever before. The current helps you drift along.

We booked at a place in the street on the corner close to the temazcal sweat lodge place after 6pm - may have been 8pm for the following morning and got a brilliant deal (I don't know if the later you book if this is likely to happen or not - all I know is we basically got a half price deal).

The trip was fantastic! We were so well looked after by our guides who were knowledgeable and safety conscious.

We had loads of time on this reef which was stunning. Saw barracudas, clown fish, parrot fish, pipe fish, Mexican piranhas (they don't bite) and many other species of fish but I'm not a fish expert so I can't tell you what they were. It was so colorful and abundant. We visited another reef on this tour and also the museo under the sea.

It was a perfect tour. I can't believe we got it so cheap. If I'd have paid full price I would consider it a bargain.

I went here 3 times during my 14 day stay. It was an incredible experience. I booked through the snorkeling adventure at the Palace resorts. I saw a great variety of fish.

We snorkeled from a boat and it was a drift snorkeling so the boat waited at the end. Many fish of all kinds/ Excellent place
