I can't get over the cruelty of the shark being held in the pen and being forced out of the water for selfies. Travel with compassion, use your dollars for good.

This was a stop after a snorkel trip. The 'grilled fish' was ok, but the BBQ style cooking could hide poor quality. The rice, pasta and other items provided were poor. There was a shark holding pen outside with 2 nurse sharks and people lined...More

We enjoyed this activity and took pictures with the shark. (He was nice to us.) The grilled fish was delicious. We bought some shells souvenirs.

I am not a fan of caged wild life; but I do understand that hard working people have to pay the bills. So there has to be some sort of balance. The restaurant was quite good. My husband and I had the fish fillets that...More

Gorgeous beach. I wished we would have spent more time here after I found out how great it was. We went to the turtle farm near here which I also highly recommend. Simple and cheap. Loved the turtles.

Seeing the shark in the pen was sad. It was well fed and looked healthy, but not really our thing to do, so we didn't go in. Cheap like 2-3 bucks to go in. If you want a picture then 6 bucks. A few vendors...More

Go for the grilled fish at Playa Tiburon but don't support the penned shark business. Good fresh grilled sea bass but you need to pick some bones out. Seems to be mostly locals with lots of beer drinking in case you want to stay away...More

We went for the grilled fish dinner. Didn't visit the shark. Many people in this forum are reviewing the shark in a pen - that really something separate in my opinion. Many snorkle trips stop here for their free lunch - we went back off...More

I visited this atraction as I hoped to spend a nice day on the beach in Isla Mujeres. But when I saw in which cages sharks are hold at this place and even taken out for photos I left immediately. I feel very sorry for...More

It is tradition for us to visit Playa Tiburon for a fish lunch at least once whenever we visit Isla Mujeres. I cannot say that we are fans of the nurse shark tank as it seems cruel. Please think about the poor captive shark before...More

They are both offensive, but I wouldn't put them in the same league. I would rather have someone swear at my dog than beat it.
