BEWARE - told $100 to buy a piece of jewellery but they charged $250 US to my card. he said it was pesos... I should have checked better. All very smiley - clearly prey on unsuspecting tourists. Karma will bite them I'm sure

I might suggest taking it up with your credit card company, saying it was defective merchandise and the owner of the store is not honoring his guarantee
