Eat any meal at Rolandi's *****, lunch at Mango Café*****, or dinner at Oscar's ****. Don't bother with Argentina** or Sardinia (no stars, just bad).

Lots of little shops selling souvenirs, etc. Some very nice restaurants. Just strolling the streets at any time of day is a pleasure.

This is what Playa del Carmen used to be like before the bloody shopping malls invaded. Quaint little shops selling souvenirs and the roads being navigated by scooters and rental Golf carts.

This place has everything you need - eats, drinks, souveniers. The main reason to go here is to support local restaurants and merchants and get great prices while doing so. The best place to get all your take home gifts without paying higher airport prices....More

There is a shop right at the zocala across from the malecon. You can't miss it, as it is purple! They have a fabulous reputation.
Returning to IM for vacation next week after a 24 year absence. Are there any larger type stores to buy water/supplies at? Are there any food stalls/venders located at El Centro? Always looking for good tamales!!!
