If you find you have a little extra time, or just want to slow the pace down a bit, then visit this library. It is a short distance from the old town square, and have a variety of programs they host. I had the pleasure of participating in their weekly language night. If you want to improve your Spanish speaking... More

Not what I expected in the way of books, even donated ones. No AC, so it was uncomfortable hot. The personal not friendly or helpful

Dear Linda, Thanks for visiting the library, we are sorry you didn't have a positive experience. Any specific suggestions on how we can improve our book collection? What kinds of books were you expecting? One of the rooms is air conditioned and visitors are welcomed to turn it on and sit and read. This time of year it's hard to... More

This library is run by volunteers for the the English speaking residents and visitors in Merida. It is a lovely building with a nice collection of books to borrow or buy. We met a very nice lady who showed us around and explained how everything worked. They have computers and internet available. If we had been in Merida longer we... More

My family of four with two kids (ages 7 and 10) enjoyed visiting the English Library just to read different books while we were there. The people were very nice and the setting is clean and lovely. The garden is welcoming. If we were in town for longer we would have bought a membership.

I felt honored to be invited to participate in their Monday night Language Exchange Program. I hosted the table for locals who wanted to improve their English language skills. It was just an added component to my vacation week in Merida.

The library was close to where we were staying so went on 2 house tours which we really enjoyed. They try and pick different types of houses for each tour and they are not the same ones week to week but are all within walking distance of the library. The talk before the tour is given by a different person... More
