We had so much fun on this ride! The bikes were great and our guide Jose was the best. The cenote was a perfect place to cool off and it was remote and we had it all to ourselves. Highly recommend!

We stayed in Play del Carmen for 5 days and Cozumel for another 8 days and we had fun the whole time. However, I have to mention that the full day bike tour to Ek Balam was by far the best time we had. What an incredible experience!!! The tour guides Joaquin and David were outstanding. They have a great package put together that is more than just a bike ride thru the jungle. I was calling it a Mayan triathlon: Bike (la selva), Swim (el cenote) and Walk (las ruinas mayas), but it was so much more. Add the historic facts and stories shared by the knowledgeable guides and the delicious food and beer served by the friendly crew at the palapa and it is at least a quintathlon. This is a must do for anyones bucket list and definitely qualifies for a repeat visit or 3 or 4, etc.

The mountain bike tour and visit to Ek Balam were amazing and a highlight of the trip. The Jungle Bike Tour company did a great job and the tour leaders were knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the tour and the locale. Highly recommended for everyone and I plan to do this tour again next time I visit!

Not only did we engage with the local Mayan kids in the villages on our route, but we really got to know our guides, Joaquin and David. I consider them friends. The kind that you get to know only after a bonding ride. One that took us through a variety of terrain - from flat out sprints to rugged and technical trails - all set in the Mayan jungle. Joaquin & David shared their knowledge and passion for the ecology of the area and the Mayan culture which was complimented by fresh tacos made by local Mayan women and a brief chat with the local Shaman. Not to mention a refreshing dip in a hidden cenote. No matter what your level of cycling experience or understanding of the area's rich history, this trip is the one you will talk about for months afterwards.

These tours are amazing, and offer something different than every other tour company around. The two guys that run the tours are completely focussed on providing a good service and making sure YOU have the trip YOU want. They are not about money and numbers, their knowledge of the area is amazing, and they are so friendly! I cant speak more highly of this company and you cant do Play del Carmen without getting these guys to take you on a trip you wont forget. I would write about our trip but its best to let you discover it for yourself.

I just came back from Playa del Carmen in Riviera Maya and I was looking for something different or new attrations, because I have been there several times and I do not want to do the same activities. This time I found this Jungle Bike Tours, I never heard about them and it sounds interesting because I like biking but most of the time I do it around parks located in the city

We depart by van from Playa del Carmen to Ek Balam, an archaeological site located in Yucatan, the ride takes 2 hours 20 minutes. Once here, the adventure begans with the bikes in paths in the middle of the Maya jungle until arrive to a small town called Hunuku where local Maya people lives. Next, we took another path until arrive a sacred Maya cenote called Xcanche where we refreshed us and there is a palapa with hammocks where we took a break after biking. I think the circuit is like 17 kilometers. Local people from Xcanche served the lunch for us, it was traditional quesadillas (fried corn dough stuffed with beans or cheese) with tomato sauce and purple onion...just delicious!

After lunch, we walked into the Ek Balam archaeological site. These Maya vestiges are just great, we climbed up to the main temple and the view from here is just awesome, it was like a connection with the nature and Mother Earth. Our tour leaders, David and Coaco were amazing, very professionals and smiling all the time. They really love their job.

This was a full day tour, bring your photo camera, comfortable clothes (short and tennis shoes) and a towel after the cenote swimming. Safety equipment is provided (helmet, gloves and glasses). The tour includes energetic breakfast on board (fruit, juice, oat cookies), bottled water, entrance fee to the cenote and Ek Balam, Maya lunch and the most light and soft off-road bikes (Kona, Proflex, Merida, Giant and Rocky Mountain). Thank you guys!
