The tour can give you knowledge with a perspective. Manuel guided us with engagement through geology, biology, archeaology to present society. A waliking seminar, finishing up with an unsuspected speed tour on the lagoons topped with a floating experience close to nirvana (watch out for mangrove reminder of reality). As promised. Lunch was great, but late, so bring som snacks.

We were a party of 12 including a 6-year-old and an 87-year-old...did the Sunset Tour with Manuel, a very knowledgeable biologist, and it was absolutely the highlight of our trip...floated down canals and saw all kinds of birds, then got into speedboats and saw manatees, a croc, sea eagles...then a wine and cheese finale at sunset. Manuel and the speedboat... More

We booked a full day excursion with this operator because of their ethical travel ethos, and were thoroughly impressed. Their office is slightly off the main drag of Tulum, and they're a non - profit Mayan co-op who fund various grass roots projects to support the Mayan communities. The tour was excellent, taking in ruins, nature in the Sian Ka'an... More

We took the Muyil Forest and Float tour with Cesar, who is an outstanding guide. He knows much about the Mayan culture, history and the ecology of the Biosphere, fluently explaining in both Spanish and English for our small group of Spanish, Germans, Canadians, and Americans. What impressed us greatly is the community development work of this organization. They support... More

We have taken many trips to Mexico and several to the Yucutan. So juch has changed since our first trip to this area in 1986. I am so glad to say that our tour today was as completely natural and special as we could have wished for. reasonable size group, excellent guide (thank u Antonio), scrumptious authentic regional food. although we got off to a rough start with some miscommunication of departure time we met the group down in Muyil at the start of the trip. After a snack of chips and dips we head to the forest where our wonderful guide Cesar talks about history, wildlife, Mayan culture, ecology you name it. He was well versed and self... More

Sian Ka'an is a stunning nature preserve with blue lagoons miles across and a great variety of wildlife. This is not a slick tourist trip -- it is an intimate (6 people per boat) visit to a unique bio reserve. Community Tours is fabulous. Very responsive and flexible to work with and their staff are great. Our guide, Manuel, was... More

Started the day with a tasty Mayan snack. The tour was very well organised, nice pace, informative and varied. Walks through Mayan archeological sites, jungle broadwalks, boat rides over crystal clear lagoons and a totally unique float for 1 km down a crystal canal - amazing! All this followed by a delicious Mayan lunch. All the guides were very knowledgeable,... More
