Our family of 6 had a great time visiting the Monkey Sanctuary. We heard about other trips into the jungle to see the monkeys and other animal sancutaries, with some saying this was a “zoo”. Perhaps in some rights it could be considered a “zoo”...More

Cages, cages, cages. And especially small cages. That says 'zoo' not 'sanctuary'. If it were a true sanctuary there would be animals not in cages as well, you wouldn't be able to have a personal experience with the animals and the temporary 'cages' would be...More

Love this place! The guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable about all of the animals. From there we rode ATVs to an amazing cenote where we had a refreshing swim. Best excursion by far....just wear lots of bug spray, mosquitoes were crazy!!!!

The whole sanctuary was great. The little squirrel monkeys captured our hearts. They sat on us, looked us in the eye and were so gentle. Great experience. The birds are beautiful and tame. Fed the little goats - so cute. Wonderful experience.

I appreciate the effort and passion that the rangers put into this project. I can't remember if it's maintained already by two or three generations but you can see that these people live for this reserve. It was a nice surprise when our ranger started...More
