We had a rental car and had visited Tulum at 9am. From other reviews I knew we didn't want to arrive before noon to have a better chance of seeing the monkeys without too much hiking. We arrived around noon and yes, it does feel like it's in the middle of no where, if you're driving yourself. We brought a... More

This is really an amazing experience. It's the kind of unique, off-the-beaten-path activity that makes a whole vacation worthwhile.

I booked an eco-tourism with Mexican Kan Tours and started our journey at this beautiful, breath taking reserve. Upon arrival, we were allowed to use on site (ultra clean) restrooms to change/ use facilities before our little trek into the reserve. I was pleasantly surprised to witness how eco-friendly the digienous community whom take care of restroom maintainance were as... More

We went to Punta Laguna after a trip to Coba. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Monday. We ate our lunch in the car in the parking lot and then proceeded to check in. It was $500 pesos for the two of us or $25 USD. Ladies I did use the bathroom here, it is a dry toliet, you must... More

We drove an hour from Tulum to see the spider monkeys and it was so worth it! This is a locally run place that is open every day. With the tour guide it cost 370 pesos for both of us. The best time to see the monkeys is after 330 pm (they travel 3 km away for food in the... More

We went here purely for the monkeys. We opted for the shorter tour option because we were on our way to the Coba ruins on the same trip. We were traveling form Tulum by getting a taxi driver for the day, so it was a bit of an expensive trip, but it was worth it. We saw lots of spider... More

This was a relatively expensive excursion for us, at least on our Mexico trip, simply because eg at all the temples our children were free. MXN$500 seemed quite a lot, but we had a great time for about 4 hours! We saw spider monkeys - relatively easily considering we arrived at 11.30am ie not an ideal time. We also saw... More

I was part of a group called Summer Program in Tropical Conservation (SPTC) led by primatologist Dr. Michael Periera and Laura Vicke in 2002. We actually used machetes and gps to map out and make trails at the Punta Laguna reserve. I lived on the reserve for the summer in the Yucatan and it was one of the best experiences... More

We hired a taxi to take us to the reserve, the entrance fee was about $5 (USD) each and the guide was around $20. We did not do any of the other activities offered. It was suggested to go early so we arrived around 9 am. We did not see any other tourists there until we left. It took about... More

A wonderful place if you like nature and a local Mayan experience. It is about 20 minutes down a very long straight road off the Cobá junction. We came here on the strength of other reviews from various sites and we weren't disappointed. The entry fee includes a native Mayan guide and our guide, Angel, was very informative. He spoke...
