This little "enclave" cement pool in the Ocean should only be attempted at High Tide, You should stand on the back of the pool wall and let the wave take you in, its too much fun & enjoyment, my best pool in the Ocean ever. It is a quaint little pool. If you have small children they would enjoy playing in the pool whilst you sit on the wall on the side.
Do not go on 26 December or 1 January of the New Year. The masses descends here as these two days are National Beach days for may working class people who can only get OFF of work these two days & then the beach strips are unpleasantly FULL.

Walking along the beach path, next to the train track and beach, with amazing views all around. The boulders on the beach are home to a variety of bird species as well

Ideal place to take your family to spend the day. Very safe tidal pool. Convenient beach chalets for free but have to be early to reserve one. Can be become very crowded in Summer but get there early and leave when the crowds arrive.

The rock pool makes this beach great for swimming with kids. With that being said, it cam tend to be overcrowded. However, if caught at the right time this little Beach can be pretty fun to swim at.

Kalk Bay is probably the place to visit on the Indian Ocean side south of Cape Town.

It is always very busy and can be prone to slow and queuing traffic. The beach area is pleasant enough but I suppose people come for the eclectic and quirky mix of shops and of course the cafes and restaurants. Parking can be difficult but the smallish car parks always have helpful car 'guards'

The cafes are packed on a Sunday morning, with a good proportion of locals. There are decent ladies and jewellery shops and a couple of nice art galleries which are worth calling in.

The bustling harbour is definitely worth a visit - very colourful and busy and not surprisingly plenty of boats - nice views looking back to the beach, town and mountain backdrop.

A lovely place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Real fishermen's town and really worth visiting. It doesn't take long to see the highlights but it is worth doing so! Be sure to take a dip in the oceans pool!

An old & well established arty, quaint & quirky False bay seaside resort. In days gone by this area was a major holiday area for the people of central Cape Town & is still a favorite spot for a Sunday outing. Restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, clothing shops all stand side by side & on a sunny late summer Sunday all do a brisk trade.

Well worth a visit; park up & take a wander - you never know what treasures you'll find. Drink coffee or something stronger; eat a meal or meals, breakfast thru dinner; browse the shops & generally soak up the atmosphere of this ageless & timeless seaside town.

If you feel like taking a refreshing dip in the sea there's a very nice safe tidal pool there too.

Convenient Parking can be a problem. Suggest you just park & then walk. Alternatively, park in Muizenberg & walk the stunning coastal path to St James....you can take Fido too.....

This is one of my favorite walks. Stunning views on all sides. Fresh sea spray in our face. Friendly smiles everywhere. Loads of rock pools to explore. On the way back to the car we took the upper road and admired the elegant architecture, stopped for a drink, browsed through some stores. Great afternoon.
