Great camping for kids and adults
Jul. 2021
We had an amazing time at Eweleaze Farm again this time round. The new changes to the facilities are excellent – full grocery store and many food outlets to buy food for both kids and adults……fresh pizza, fresh fish and oysters, burgers, pastries and sweet options with pub.
Great campsite and worth a visit annually.

Fab for families

This was the first time I stayed here and we are local so had lots of visitors. It was gorgeous and everyone wants to book a stay next year. It's a very relaxed site so there are lots of camp fires and people relaxing and playing music in teh evening. Its all adults and families so no one was a problem they were all respectfull and I didn't hear anyone after 11:30. You can pitch where you want and great for groups of families. The campsite is FULL of children so if you are after a quiet weekend away this probably isn't the place for you is very very family focused and there are lost of families and groups say up late so it's probably not the site. If you are a family or groups this is an amazing site with everything you need

Family and friends camping

Our first visit to Eweleaze with my partner and our two kids 11 and 14 also our longest stay in tents so far (5 nights). What a great place had a meal in the restaurant on our first night with friends 16 in total great food and service!
All other food stalls were very good and reasonably priced , bakery was lovely , bar was good , shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. I was very impressed with all the staff I met on site all seemed polite and keen to help!
It was a busy site but well maintained and we never really had trouble with access to food , showers or toilets. Showers were fine compost loos were ok , there are a few flushing loos if you look hard enough.
The only fault I could find would be the caged barking dogs by the bar???
We will definitely be back ,easy camping by the sea a great week Thankyou !

Past it’s best

We’ve camped at Eweleaze many times over the years, including stays at their sister sites Shortlake and Northdown. We we’re so excited to be back this year but unfortunately it will be our last.

Despite assurances that they had restricted numbers due to covid, I have never seen it so busy. The whole place is packed. They’ve clearly prioritised profit over safety and its so disappointing. It used to be such a special place for us but sadly those days are gone.

Kids screaming at all hours, people drinking and loud music until late even though there’s a music ban apart from Saturday nights. The only time I saw security was on their way out of the site.

Only bonus’s are the food court on site and the beach.

Eweleaze Farm is an amazing campsite with wonderful views over looking the sea and Portland if you pick Beach field or Top Field and Point Field. Beach Field and Point Field
don’t allow cars but all the other fields do. Eweleaze DO NOT allow Caravans or Motorhomes.

There is excellent food options like Pizza, Burgers and Crepes. Most of the prices are below ten pounds. There is a beer tent where adults can relax and have a drink.

It is a short drive to Weymouth town centre and Portland. There are lovely walks nearby including Durdle Door to Lulworth Cove. There is also a nice walk to the White Horse and back. The beach is pebbles but is great for Paddle Bording and other water sports. There is also a great pottery shed and right next door is two pens of sheep dogs.

I would seriously recommend this campsite.

Festival vibe without the music
Aug. 2021 • Family
Amazing campsite, myself my husband, 10month old and 3 year old rented a luxury bell tent. It came with mattresses and bedding, fire pit and wood, fairy lights, bunting and two chairs. Tee pee was in a great condition.

Overlooking the ocean you could not get a better view as you wake up. Yes the toilets we used were compost ones but always clean and ample loo roll. They must continually be cleaned as they were never in a bad state. There are also flushable toilets on site.

Lots of choice for food stalls and drinks.

Short walk to “the shack” beach bar and park for the kids along the cliff top walk to Weymouth. Under an hour walk to Weymouth or ten min drive.

Only downside was no one policing no cars on the car free fields so continually there were cars driving around and some at speed so watch the children closely. Cars and vans were also left by tents all night which we thought we would avoid on these fields.

Apart from that we would definitely return. Great place

All the bad bits of a festival, packed tight with rich wannabe hippies
Aug. 2021
If you like camping, you'll probably hate Eweleaze.

Pros:
- Can pitch anywhere you like
- Good views from some fields
- Large groups allowed
- Camp fires allowed
- Food choices are good and varied
- Walking distance to pebble beach

Cons:
- ...Can pitch anywhere you like. Even on top of other tents, apparently
- Most of the ground is on a fairly steep slope. The flat bits are largely taken up by the site's own bell-tents
- Payment is per-person, not per pitch, with car parking charge on top
- No noise curfew. No staff anywhere, at all, ever. Which would be great in a small site... but not so much here.
- Hygiene a serious issue, especially in a pandemic
- Drinking water taps are tucked behind the cess pits for the longdrops, where people also wash their poo hands/kids' potties etc.
- Composting toilets cannot cope with site capacity
- Beach isn't great for kids. Very little paddling-depth before steep dropoff and deep water.

Wouldn’t come back
Aug. 2021 • Family
First time here and have to say wouldn’t return sadly.

We sadly picked a very wet weekend but the tents are all very close to one another and the compost loos are unbearable. Nowhere to wash hands so just alcohol gel to wash hands (people brushing teeth where they’re washing up with only cold water the entire time we were there) with covid I really think this should be something that’s looked at. We camped on east field so view was of the PGL site which looks a bit like a prison camp with not much space in between yourself and next family.

Food and coffee was all good and reasonably priced but real lack of hygiene with staff going to loos and not washing hands and going straight in to make coffee and food. The bakery is amazing and makes the most delicious croissants so that really is great and coffee was good but be prepared to queue!

Shop was good and well stocked (could have done with earplugs though as pretty noisy every night)! Good selection of camping essentials, food, wine etc.

Story time in Tippee which was billed to start at 7.30pm never happened and none of the staff had the common sense to leave a notice saying this (for several nights in a row) and resulted in 30+ very disappointed children who sat patiently waiting only for no one to turn up).

Sheep dog puppies are incredibly noisy and quite aggressive-it feels rather cruel having them taunted by children running up and down next to them.

The beach was lovely (pebbles) and only redeeming factor in our experience-children enjoyed their time on beach and playing in the haybarn.

The icing on the cake was the track which a esses the campsite is in such a bad state with enormous potholes. Upon arriving it managed to damage the chassis of the car. If you’re looking for a festival experience without the music then this is the place for you!

Be careful near the dogs
Aug. 2021 • Family
This place is the perfect camping location, with great sea views. Do be careful of the “on site” puppies as they do bite and have been known to cause serious harm to small children

Campsite with a view!!!!!!
Aug. 2021 • Friends
Wow! We've just stayed at one of the most beautiful campsites I think I've ever visited in the UK, overlooking an amazing bay, far away from the hustle and bustle, lovely community feel meeting other campers and sharing stories, wonderful and surprisingly clean facilities, the host, who I didn't catch the name of was also a delight, making us feel welcome, would definitely stay again!!!!!!
