The Home of Welsh Castle Life: Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Castle’s exciting past. Caldicot Castle’s impressive structure is surrounded by an idyllic 55 acre Country Park. You will be able to travel through time and discover the home of Welsh castle life, from medieval times to the twentieth century. The castle was developed as a fortress by Royal hands in the Middle Ages and restored as a Victorian family home. The river Nedern winds its way through the park and the wildlife pond is home to a variety of wildfowl.

We live quite near to Caldicot Castle and don't visit nearly enough. I has had a chequered history, falling into complete disrepair then being bought as a private residence, it was used as flats for local couples in need of housing after the second world...More

It's a nice local castle. There's not that much to do unless it's an event day, just go to the duck pond and the park for children. Inside the actual castle there isn't that much. However, when there are events on - often medieval reenactments...More

We saw dogs inside on our visit....not sure if they would be allowed inside the rooms though. Lots of lovely walks for them in the grounds :)

There is a free car park just inside the grounds, next to the castle and children's park area.
