wonderfully laid back, chill beach town with some cautions...in town, always felt perfectly safe, had everything needed (cool veggie stands, beach front restaurants and bars, pharmacy, pandering, just a great little town as long as u r comfortable with some level of nudity on the beach. There are resorts/bnb's up in the hills that might not be the safest. Rental car was fine for a week in town, but vandalized within a day while staying at Heven, up on the hill. Not the resorts fault, just a danger of that more isolated area. The walk into town from the hill is fine during the day, but given it's isolation and vandalism, would not want to do it at night...for my comfort, in town is the better choice. With U.S. concerns about Mexico these days, my suggestion is go, but be careful, make good choices.

We were worried that the beach wouldn't be nice after the hurricanes last year, but, the beach is awesome and there are alot more places to eat and drink along the beach than we anticipated. Loved this place and would go back. We were there for 10 days and went in the waves and water everyday. Also like to walk down to "Lover's Beach" as it is more secluded behind a wall of rock, but, easier to swim past the breakwater.

This review is very biased as we permanently reside in Mazatlán near the beach. Zipolite as a beach is mediocre except for the nudity part which is why we went. It’s the only Nude beach in MX. When we lived in the states we used to go to Orient Beach on the French side of St.Martin in the Caribbean. We did not find the water to be as rough as described in most reviews. We started our trip at a BnB called Heven which was lovely but had so many stairs to climb to get back from the beach or town that it was impossible for my husband who has a bad knee. If you have ANY MOBILITY ISSUES, this is not the place for you. The service staff was great and gracious for understanding that we had to switch hotels due to the elevation of the property.

I come to regularly.
One needs to be aware it's a semi beach...not everyone is nude.
Worse part dogs dogs dogs everywhere
AND dog poop so watch it on the beach and on the streets.
At night is aways interrupted by dogs barking but pòop is the worse.

Enjoy

My husband is a SoCal guy who found this beach perfect for body surfing all day long. He couldn't get enough. He is a very strong swimmer however and we did learn the Rip is significant there. But Strong swimmers will LOVE this beach!

We are seniors who have been lucky enough to travel the world. But the one thing missing was a nude beach experience. After a lot of research and reading plus we love Mexico, we decided to try this beach for our first time! Upon arrival all of our fears and concerns about shedding our clothes dissolved quickly. The relaxed atmosphere took over and we immediately became comfortable in our “own skin.” No one cares because most came for the same reason...we felt so free as we walked the beach nude early each morning. Remember the feeling when you went skinny dipping as a kid? That’s the feeling but you need to be comfortable in your own skin...no pressure to drop your clothes but certainly worth a try. We strolled each day, stopped for a drink or snack, took a dip in the warm waters and spent the rest of the day under an umbrella. Was our first but not our last!!
