Passionate about kayaking? Awesome. Our all-inclusive whitewater kayaking training experiences provide everything needed to make it happen. Since 2014 our highly trained instructors have helped over 2,000 kayakers get on the water with everything needed for a great experience. We offer a range of whitewater training from beginner skills to instructor training, plus custom skills training.

We spent a day kayaking with Candlebox. My kids were 6 and 8. My son was a little nervous, but the team helped ease his insecurities and we had the best day. He wanted to go out again the next day. This company has moved towns since we went on our adventure, but I would definitely travel to seek out another day on the water with them. Thanks so much for creating a fun family memory!

Good value for money. Matt and John are both funny and friendly guys. Easy to talk to, happy to help you, And answer any question you mite have about the area or kayaking. The kayaking its self lasts for 3-4hrs. you'll go out pretty far before lunch, depending on age and size of party. All in all great fun!

We had a fantastic day with Matt. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. Our day of kayaking was so much fun, the lunch was delicious and Matt told us lots of history and interesting facts about the area. We would highly recommend this for an adventure with teens.

I had a wonderful day with Matt and his team in the Tusket islands last week. It was a highlight of my vacation. It was foggy and seas were calm. I highly recommend this tour. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and safety conscious. The fog was beautiful! I did not even miss the sun a little bit 😊

My dad and I booked 5 hour a kayaking tour in Port Mouton and we had a great time with Matt!
The scenery was gorgeous and we lucked out with a clear, sunny day. A curious harbour seal followed us as we kayaked around an island and the water was clear enough for us to see all the plants on the ocean floor.
Afterwards we had a yummy lunch on a beach of white sand. As we were heading back to our landing spot, we spotted a pod of minke whales feeding. So cool!
This adventure was such a great experience and we can’t recommend Candlebox enough!

We had a wonderful kayaking excursion to the Tusket Islands with this outfitter. Very professional, always safety in mind, informative explanations of the area visited and overall super helpful to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. They offered a wonderful lunch on a deserted island with everything on could want.
We were able to visit places not easily accessible and it sure was a good workout.
Can highly recommend Matt and his crew.

My daughter was visiting and I thought it would be a good idea. Turns out it was fantastic. We learned about the history of Shelburne and pirates and saw birds. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to do and not expensive. Great job Uli and Matt.

Having only recreational kayaking experience I was a bit nervous going into the 2 day intro to whitewater course, but I came out of the weekend with a lot more confidence on the river. Matt did a great job meeting everyone where they were at and creating a challenging but comfortable learning environment for all.

This was an awesome 2-day adventure into white water kayaking. Matt is extremely knowledgeable and experienced, yet is incredibly patient and sets the newbie at ease. Though I have experience with regular kayaking, this course added a whole new array of skills to give me more confidence on moving water. I highly recommend!

As a special birthday gift my partner and I signed up for the Port Mouton tour. Having spent many summers visiting my grand parents in Port Mouton I was interested in visiting port Mouton Island. Matt and Uli did not disappoint. The day was calm with a gentle ocean swell, sunny and warm. We were guided from the government wharf out past Mink Island over to the light on Spectacle Island then on to Port Mouton Island where we had the beach to ourselves. Uli had prepared a lovely lunch and even made a cake for my wife's birthday. On the way out we saw many seals and numerous harbour porpoise which was a special treat. After a relaxing lunch and a swim we headed back paddling through the narrows of Spectacle as the tide was up and on to cruise along the shore by Carters beach and back to the wharf and take out. We were a small group, just my wife and I, a young woman and our guides, Matt and Uli. I cannot say enough about the experience, knowledge and care taken by Matt and Uli. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a safe, professionally run coastal kayaking day trip.
