We took the Sea Lion Trail (short hike, very fun trail with lots of little side trails). Please read the Ojibwe story of Nanabozho before you go (ties into many stories within Thunder Bay like the ouimet canyon and kakabeka falls). Worth the extra drive to the Silver Islet and must go to the Thunder Bay lookout on your way out of the park. Exhilarating and scary lookout. A very rough road but worth it.

This Provincial Park is like none other!! My review would be too long to describe HOW wonderful it is but our day was spent hiking and exploring, climbing and breathing, engaging and connecting with nature. What a beautiful place. You must make the arduous drive to the Sleeping Giant Lookout because the views from this cool platform are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! This place was worth our 14 hour drive!

We spent the day with our grandkids, they recommended this trail, it was a bit of a drive from Thunder Bay, but the trail was pretty good, a few difficult areas but the view at the end was worth the walk.

There are a ton of things to do in this park. The trails are plenty, some last a few minutes, some span a few days. We weren't able to get to the Top of the Giant because we arrived during the afternoon, but regardless, the Sea Lion is a beautiful alternative short hike. The Thunder Bay Lookout is also a great accessible alternative to the Top of the Giant, but the road leading up to there is pretty dangeours to low cars, like mine. So just be mindful of the road leading to that lookout. There were also a couple of foxes who approach the vehicles. They seem to have been "domesticated" as they don't show any gear to humans anymore. Ontario Parks vehicle was keeping an eye out of all vehicles passing through those foxes and remind everyone to not feed the wild!

Lots of nice hikes in this park. I recommend the sea lion and the ravine trails. Lots of deers, grouses and birds.
