Since 2000, Coyote Canyon Adventures is offering the most exciting and highest quality family adventure tours available in San Miguel de Allende. We have half-day, full day and overnight horseback riding excursions available. Our expert cowboy guides lead you safely through working cattle ranches, into Coyote Canyon(a.k.a. Canada de la Virgen), through its river, over its plains, across its gorges, and down its sheer cliffs, all the while sharing with you their in-depth knowledge of the native flora and fauna. Their horseback riding excursions are exciting and rugged yet can also be tailored for families with small children or for seniors who would prefer a slower pace. Or if you require a little more adrenaline you can add some rappelling at the end of your ride or hike through the canyon. If you are interested in adventure tours we can offer activities such as hot air balloons flights, ATV's tours, rappelling... We also offer the finest tours available of the archeological site named "Sitio Arqueologico Canada de la Virgen", which is a 1600 year old pyramidal complex in the same area. And many other activities such as hot air balloons flights, ATV's tours, rappelling...

We had a wonderful tour guide Alberto, not to be confused with Albert Coffee. I have read many reviews on Albert Coffee and was trying to book a tour with him. He is no longer with Coyote Canyon, although he was on the same pyramid shuttle with us. Our guide was wonderful, informative, full of knowledge, and spoke perfect english.... More

My family of four (a 12 and a 15 year old) went with Diego on a hike of the canyon. The canyon floor has unique cactus and an easy-to-ford creek, and the hike included climbing up on the canyon's rim at the end. The vista was beautiful. We learned a lot about Mexico from Diego, the company's articulate and friendly... More

There are times you come home from a trip and tell people about your experiences. It's often kind of blah blah blah...same old, same old. But a trip on horseback through Coyote Canyon and to the top of the world affords a person major bragging rights. It was an instant community of 5 riders and 3 cowboys, that guided and... More

Our family did this activity during Winter break 2016 and had a great time with CCA on this ride. We started late afternoon and rode up into the hills where we watched the sunset. Then we rode into town where we visited four bars for an authentic San Miguel experience. Would definitely book with CCA again!

We toured Canada de la Virgen pyramid. Alberto Alveleyro was our guide. Alberto is an anthropologist, not an archeologist (a tour run by another company is guided by an archeologist who helped develop this site). Personally, I find people more interesting than things, and that is the perspective offered by Alberto. If you want to know more about the people... More

Wonderful experience: The cowboys are excellent and very helpful. Diego is "the bomb." A must do: Easy to schedule. The after ride lunch was absolutely delicious.

It is sad to hear the history of this. I try to support local businesses but I can support this one.

My wife, myself and our two good friends were picked up in downtown San Miguel by Alberto Alveleyro, our excellent tour guide. He is an archaeologist who is passionate about the history of Mexico. We did a relatively short drive out to Canada de la Virgen, an archaeological site (also known as the Pyramids). He is very personable and very... More

The area is a site of a number of different centuries old stone structures and is currently be explored by archeologists. The tour leader was one of these archeologists and she really added much to the visit since she has been working this site for over 20 years. She was informative, and interacted with us, such that a real dialogue... More

Our favorite adventure in San Miguel was the half day horse-riding in the canyons with Rodrigo and team. We enjoyed it very very much! The setting where you're doing the horse-riding is simply stunning. The crew led by Rodrigo also ensures that we are all safe, even for beginners. The home made lunch at the ranch after the horse-riding is... More
