    Spectacular church adjoining a lively plaza--visit at different times of the day for different colors!
    In a town with several beautiful churches, this was our favorite. We first saw it near sunset when it glowed with a coral/salmon color--gorgeous! But whether in bright sunlight or seen at night lit up, it is just a beautiful, interesting church. We happened to be in San Miguel de Allende near Christmas time, so there was a gigantic Christmas tree decorated between the church and the plaza, and star-shaped lights strung across the pedestrian walkways. Spectacular! The plaza is very lively at night, with mariachis and other entertainers often performing.

    Beautiful church - the pinkish hues and spires are gorgeous.
    So much history! The church is stunning - it was open to the public, and everyone was quite respectful was walking around the space. Statutes, windows, stonework - everything was awe inspiring. Remember to leave a few dollars in one of the boxes inside - you can choose which charity or saint to honor. It is a small price to pay to view such a splendid church.

    Stunningly Beautiful San Miguel de Allendes Church
    Stunningly Beautiful San Miguel de Allendes Church is the heart of this ancient city. The architecture is fabulous! We enjoyed the lively activity in the square at the steps of the church, listening to Mariachi and eating ice cream.

    Must see!!!
    This was an incredibly beautiful church and is the center of SMA. Even if you’re not religious you will admire at the architecture, but if you are religious you love the spirituality. It was beautiful to hear the bells chime every once in a while. Outside in the Centro they have mariachi music every night of the week.

    The Only Gothic Cathedral In Mexico
    What a gem and you don’t have to travel to Europe to see a gothic cathedral. Just visit San Miguel de Allende and see the only gothic cathedral in all of Mexico. The church was beautifully decorated and highlighted in gold and silver; which makes perfect sense as San Miguel was a major mining town for hundreds of years. If visiting churches is your thing then you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful Cathedral

I’m not Catholic but let me tell you this church is stunning. The detail and preservation are something else. We really enjoyed walking the property and taking in all its beauty.

A piece of the city that still maintains its Mexican flavor even though it is in the tourist quarter. The Parish looks beautiful at night all lit up.
