This building houses an art academy and some impressive murals, especially the unfinished work by the master David Alfaro Siqueiros. Great place to wander the halls and then sit in the garden to rest.

The history, the architecture, and the beautiful and calming space all make this a wonderful place to visit. The exhibits are very well done, very professional display of beautiful artifacts, yet the design doesn't overwhelm the beautiful colonial structure. The signage is in English and Spanish. The exhibits cover the history of the Allende family, his role in Mexico's war... More

The Musuem covers both local and national history from the 1500's - 1900's. Excellent signage in English provides an informative and interesting visit. We spent about 1 1/2 hours there. The museum is located near the Central Square by the main church.

Located next to the Parroquia, this beautiful museum is an introduction on why San Miguel became this beautiful and historic town. Learn the life of Ignacio Allende and how he influenced the history of SMA and Mexico.

The house has an interesting set of collections including some of the original rooms recreated as when the Allende family lived there. It is open Sundays for FREE but inexpensive the other days.

This was very interesting. It provides visitors with a lot of information on the Mexican Revolution as well as showing what a home looked like in that history period. We enjoyed it.

Just across El Jardin. They did a good job putting together history of Ignacio Allende and the independence movement. The house in itself is a very good example of how the wealthy lived in Mexico during colonial times. Loved to see the bedrooms with old furniture and decorations of the time.

We were in San Miguel for a month and only saw the doors open once, so we went then. The house is the family home of the Allende family and is typical of its style. Ignacio Allende is a hero of Mexican Independence and much admired in San Miguel de Allende so seeing his home connected us more to local... More
