We rented two aluminum mountain bikes to do a self-guided day tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Alberto recommended a 40-kilometer route that took us through the countryside and visited numerous small towns which were both charming and authentic. We stopped for lunch at Nirvana restaurant and hotel. Alberto spent much of his own time carefully drawing out to map and... More

What a great day with Alberto! We so enjoyed learning about the community and countryside via our cycle. Good circle route - with some hills that were easily managed with the great bikes. When we come back to San Miguel we will be back for another ride!

Alberto took our family of three out around Atotoniclo for a 20 km ride. We told him that we would like to see some wildlife and learn about the plants. The landscape was just stunning. We saw a black-tailed jackrabbit and lots of birds which Beto was able to identify. He also taught us about the cactus, agave and other... More

Finding Alberto was a great thing; meeting him the day before our "tour" increased the excitement for our trip; and having him lead our small group of 2 was the best. Alberto coordinated so both of us, unknown to each other before the ride, could squeeze in a ride starting at the dam (La Presa), through the countryside, partially along... More

We did Tour 2 (La Gruta-Cruz del Palmar-Atotonilco-La Gruta) and Beto was a great guide who took time along the route to explain where we were and what used to be in the area. The bike equipment was great, one of the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden on. He did a good job of making sure everyone in the... More

Great tours of the countryside around San Miguel. Tours are usually about 4 hours, under 40 kilometer, mostly easy riding on great mountain bikes. The owner and guide, Alberto, speaks English, is very helpful and is very knowledgeable about all things San Miguel

The ride started from the parking lot of the La Gruta hot springs about 15 minutes north of town and headed out into the countryside and we were soon on doubletrack and singletrack. Not flat but not super hilly. I think our 21 mile ride had about a 1000 feet of climbing. The bike I used was in good shape... More
