We booked in for a sunset kayak in lofoten during our stay in March. Unfortunately the weather was not great and so the kayaking had to be cancelled. Krisztina was so helpful via email and arranged for us to try for the sunrise kayaking instead. Unfortunately the weather again was too bad to be able to go, but the instructor still made the effort to meet us just in case we could go. Krisztina arranged for a full refund which came through straight away.
If you are ok lofoten and are lucky enough to have good weather please go and book a tour with Northern explorer.
I would 100% recommend this company :-)

We had the absolute best snow shoe tour we could have asked for and an unforgettable experience!
Starting with the booking process, it went very smoothly. Our mail was answered quickly and pointed out that the weather conditions still have to be considered. As the date came closer we were able to complete the booking. Due to the weather forecast, the meeting point was moved again, but we got early enough notice and could enjoy an almost wind-free tour. It is really great how individually on the group and the day the route is set.
Northern Explorer was also very flexible and helpful when we had a problem with our car. Absolute plus!
Due to the COVID situation, our guide met us at the meeting point. We got a briefing and then we were off. The tour was not too difficult, but demanding. Exactly adapted to our fitness level.
Our guide was very very nice, had a great sense of humor and made sure we were able to follow along and walk safely. He explained us a lot about Lofoten and told interesting stories.
We took a break in a stone age cave and warmed up by the campfire with warm drinks and snacks. That was very impressive!
After that we went on. The landscape was absolutely unique, beautiful and actually impossible to put into words. We had a gorgeous view!
To us ist was definitely worth the price!
All in all we had a perfect half day, a great snow shoe tour and a unique experience! We can recommend it to everyone. Our guide was absolutely awesome, the hike was really fun and we are left with great memories!

What a brilliant few days, I would highly recommend, the guides have great local knowledge and planned an exciting kayaking and snowshoeing/hiking itinerary, suitable to the circumstances (weather). There was wonderful home cooked food, cosy accommodation. The scenery and wildlife was breathtaking and we were so lucky to spy the Northern lights one night. Met some great people. Thank you so much to the Northern Explorer team!

I went on a multi -day kayaking trip through the Lofoten islands and am trying to find the words to describe how amazing it has been. The sights are stunning, the perspective from the water is incredible... We saw many sea-eagles, a curious seal, oyster catchers, minks, etc. We made stops by cute and quaint fishing villages and wild-camped at the most beautiful spots, including an enchanting abandoned island. The guide went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience, motivating us and taking limitations in the group into account, which enabled us to have the best possible experience. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

We spend a week in Eggum: as preparation, we had e-mail contact with Krisztina and she helped us with the planning of everything: the tours, the accomodation and the transport. Well done! During the week all tours were perfect organized and with Carlos or Krisztina as our guides, we became a wonderful time: snowshoeing, hunting northern lights, kayaking, fishing and sight-seeing the Lofoten. Breakfast and lunch was well organized and more than enough for us. The. Farewell dinner was another highlight: the catched fish on the grill in a cozy hut on the beach with nice people around us: with a tear and a lot of good memories we went home. Thanks to NE we had a lifetime experience!

We went on the sunset kayak. It was a lovely clear calm evening and it was beautiful. We paddled for about an hour and then had a little break, and the guide had tea/coffee and biscuits for us. He was very informative and knew loads about the area and the history which was really interesting. We then paddled to a really nice spot in the water to watch the sun go down. It was fabulous, would definitely recommend.

I took kayak and sightseeing tours with the Northern Explorer. Despite a heavy rainstorm, the tours were beyond my expectations. I've never paddled in my life before, but our guide helped me out!With a sightseeing tour I saw dreamy places of Lofoten!!!The most memorable trip for me! Thank you guys, Carlos and Krisztina, for being so helpful and optimistic !!!

This trip exceeded all of my expectations! I can't recommend it highly enough. We had a fantastic guide who ensured we had the best experience possible, who was very experienced, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and fun. The company sorted all the logistics out. The scenery was incredible, we were also very lucky with the weather and a great bunch of fellow kayaker's to share the journey with.

Came here whilst staying in Lofoten and reading all the reviews on Tripadvisor. This was our holiday to celebrate my sons 21st and my. 60th. Came here as a group of four on a lovely Sunday evening and it was the highlight of our holiday. Carlos and am sorry didn’t get your friends name but you both are a credit to Northern Explorers, we did the midnight sun trip and when Carlos realised how nervous I was he swapped things around to make it the most perfect evening we could have. You were both the highlight of our trip along with the other couple who joined us. You could not have been more helpful and inspiring . We loved every minute. Till the next time guys if ever we return it will be the first place we book. Have a great summer.
