El Squid Roe a three-floor house of madness with a crowd that isn't afraid to get on top of their tables and dance as the DJ plays music for all ages. The ambiance is that of a house party but with an MC to guide you through the night and cold served drinks by our attention to detail staff. Known as the best party in Baja and therefore has attracted the likes of Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Floyd Mayweather, Tupac, Dana White, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Rihanna, Oscar De La Hoya, Alex Rodriguez, Tony Romo, Tito Ortiz, 50 Cent, and many other celebrities. As locals and tourists alike agree, this place has been an icon in Cabo for decades.

Called in here to get out of the intense heat and have a cold beer.
We were told upfront all prices were in US Dollars
Service was quick and friendly.
But somehow we didn’t feel relaxed in there.
We didn’t feel pressured in any way but it had a strange vibe.
We eventually drank up paid our bill and left.

Friends and I went here to have night out, but we had fishing in the following days so nothing crazy. When we were leaving we got separated and a waitress said I still owed for the last drink. My card declined and I thought that was super weird. My friend showed up and paid for the drink and we left. In the next five minutes we used his card again at an ATM for taxi fare money.
Now the bank is saying we bought bottle service for $1200 and that they have a signed receipt. Well of course they do they took advantage of us leaving quickly. Why would we pay for bottle service and the leave right away and then use another ATM.
Even if we saw the amount was not correct or in pesos, what would we have done. All of their cronies are outside offering cocaine would have jumped us.
They’re are other places in Cabo safer and more fun. Overrated.

I love this place (overall)... but when did they start charging US prices for average drinks? Our bill was absolutely insane and not worth it all.

This place is a joke. They wish the were a cool club, but they are not. They are a bunch of losers who will try to rip you off. After you pay for your way over priced low quality bad margaritas, and the jello shot girls try to rip you off, you have to go outside and try to avoid all of the drug dealers that will try to pressure you into buying drugs and if you don't you have to fear that they may rob you. I won't ever go there again, it's nothing like it used to be. It's gone downhill big time. What a bunch of clowns.

went for an early dinner, food and drinks were hood, molcajete was excellent and the table prepared guacamole too. Only negative is that they charged me in dollars not in pesos at a very unfavorable exchange rate, so buyer be aware!

My partner and I were robbed right outside of El Squid Roe twice. As soon as you step outside of the club you are surrounded by 10-15 criminals and drug dealers. My partner was pulled to the side not more than 10 ft. away from the entrance and he was robbed of all of his cash. When we decided it was time to leave we crossed the street to catch a taxi. One of the criminals followed us and just before we were able to enter the taxi he cornered us and lifted all of my cash. He then forced my partner to go to the ATM outside of crush nightclub and had him withdraw even more money. We were stranded in downtown Cabo San Lucas with no money for a taxi. This place is NOT SAFE for tourists.

We had a food tour scheduled for 5:30. We had about a half an hour to kill, so we decide to go next door to El Squid Roe. The place was empty, with just one other couple there. The server sat us at a table and handed us menus. We all had a margarita, listed on the menu for 200 pesos. The drink was ok. Nothing special. Served in a tall rocks glass. When we got the check, there was an upcharge of 60 pesos, per drink, for sitting at the table. Absolutely rediculous in an empty restaurant. I can understand if the bar was packed, paying to have a table. But to pay an upcharge for sitting in an empty bar! I will never go there again. Beware!

My last review was rejected by TripAdvisor as it was marked as a "ineligible experience". I fail to see how it was ineligible experience as we actually got into the bar and ordered and paid for drinks. But here goes again. And I'm gonna attempt to keep reposting this until I get someone to understand this so that my fellow Americans and other Canadians who visit this bar are forewarned.
Be careful of the waiters. All they want is hard foreign currency. Here's my experience on 2/9. We ordered 3 beers and a Margarita. I was told $30 without a receipt. When I pulled out my Visa card to pay, I was told they don't accept Visa or credit cards even though there is a clearly marked Visa sign at the front. So I pulled out 2 20 notes cuz that's all I had. He said he had no change (not even in pesos). A $10 tip for a $30 order is kinda hefty even in Los Cabos.
On my exit, I did complain to the security guard and the manager about the behavior of this waiter and pointed him out and left as I didn't feel safe anymore and did not want to be in that establishment. I don't know what happened after that but I just want to alert everyone about this situation.
I should have believed the person with the counterfeit bill scam.

Fun bar even for some older folks who still know how to shake a groove and bust a move!!!! Good mix of music, plenty of dance platforms, and a memorable experience.
Be careful leaving the place... scratch your nose and you'll quickly be approached by some cocaine dealers thinking you wanted "party favors" instead of just a brief itch of your nose. Inside the bar... great vibe. Street side.... yikes. Drug dealers spread across the entire strip of bars offering coke and pot like it's halloween!

Should you get the all you can drink pass?

We did not take it because we were not planning to stay for long which we ended up doing. The all you can drink in my country includes normally a low quality liquor unless they specify is premium so, I do NOT recommend it. We were 4 and spent 6-7 hours there, we probably spent $50 per person including tips and each drank different things.

Call em. There isn’t like a vip area with soft seating etc. It’s booths and tables with a bunch of barely 21 year olds. You could reserve but there is a price for everything. You could probably request the booths next to each other. You can stand on the back of the booths and walk over. People also tend to dance on tables. A booth fits maybe 10 people.

depends. I go to cabo 2-3 times a year... and I have seen them card. If you look under 18 I'm sure they will ask. On other times I have seen them just walk in.

We never paid a cover charge. The passport (I am assuming that is what you are referring to) was a discount card for activities, restaurants, etc in the Cabos area. It is definitely well worth the money if you plan on going on any activities.
