El Squid Roe a three-floor house of madness with a crowd that isn't afraid to get on top of their tables and dance as the DJ plays music for all ages. The ambiance is that of a house party but with an MC to guide you through the night and cold served drinks by our attention to detail staff. Known as the best party in Baja and therefore has attracted the likes of Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Floyd Mayweather, Tupac, Dana White, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Rihanna, Oscar De La Hoya, Alex Rodriguez, Tony Romo, Tito Ortiz, 50 Cent, and many other celebrities. We have been to squid row for two years in a row and both visits were epic!!! Mauricio was our waiter and he made us feel very safe and relaxed. The food and service is second to none!!! This is not greasy bar food but great quality food and drinks. Mauricio was very attentive to our every need from drinks, food and even tee shirts sales. He was absolutely amazing as were all the other staff. What an incredible fun place !!! We will always go back to have fun and visit our friends at squid row!! Lance Wehrman

Previous visit in 2023, my daughter-in-law thought the tacos at Squid Row were the best she ever had. She did not thing as highly this year. Food service was really slow in the middle of the afternoon and the mixed drinks were very expensive.

My friends and I came recently, Daniel and Alejandro went above and beyond to help us. I loved their service. All in all, definitely a party place starting around 9pm. Great atmosphere for people ready to party hard!

Saw that this was a place you had to visit in Cabo, so I went with a group of 7 friends. Didn’t pay to get in, that was cool.
All of the shots and mixed drinks we got were extremely expensive (8 USD+) and WEAK as hell. I had probably 5-6 drinks and was barely buzzed and I get tipsy off of two beers. Just got sick to my stomach from how sweet they were.
When trying to enter people will try and sell you every drug under the sun, they look sketchy as hell, and they get pissed off when you try to get them to leave you alone. This process repeats every time you try to step outside for a smoke because they can’t tell us gringos apart, apparently.
The cherry on top was when the bartender (or some other lackey) brought us our check (well over 200$) and demanded a 40% tip. For drinks. We tipped around 20% initially and he was not happy. Talked about how it wasn’t enough, took our money, then brought the check back with how much we “needed” to top tip (something ridiculous like 70$).
It has a really cool vibe, awesome wall decor and dance floors, it’s cool being a 3-level thing, music was good, but I genuinely wouldn’t recommend going there unless you’re already sloshed.

We did not buy a plan. Just showed up about 8 PM on a Tuesday. On Friday night the line was out the door and around the block, or pay a cover or $20 USD and two drinks minimum and you are a VIP.
So go on a weekday unless you want to be wall to wall people on three floors, very loud music, and crazy.
Its worth a visit to have a few drinks and take in the decor. the longer you look the more to find to see. Mid day is a good time to stop in, unless you are looking for "a good time".
I think the drinks are weak, but who goes for the drink? Its a show of people being very happy and walls of 'art'. A must stop when in CSL.
If there is a cruise ship in port maybe go another day, unless you are ON the cruise.
Be smart, wallets in front pockets, phones in hand, purses crossways.

Make sure to check your bill if you're paying with card.
They take advantage of you being "drunk" and charge you an extra $10 so the bartender/servers can keep for themselves.
This happened to my sister 3 times- our round of drinks was $45 but they charged her card $55.
I payed for bottle service which was $190 in US dollars but they charged my card $200.
I asked them why they charged me $200 on my card when both of my servers said it was $190.
They showed me they charged me in pesos which was $3,788 and said that was equivalent to $200 in US dollars.
They thought I was stupid or naive thinking I'd believe that. I know that 3,788 pesos equaled $190 US dollars.
ALSO, my sister payed for our drinks with cash the last time ($45 US dollars for one round, my sister gave him $60) the bartender put the 60 in his pocket and gave my sister back $5. She told him he owed her $15 back. He was in shock she said something and said "oh sorry." And instead of returning the $15 from the money he put in his pocket, he took money from the register and gave her the $15.
We would've tipped them that amount either way, but the way they try to rip off their customers is unsettling.
They take advantage of tourists, and think we're idiots.

From your review I will take the only bill in pesos I see for my example. Your total came to $3,788 mxn at our current exchange rate of 19 to 1 it would equal $199.36 USD so it seems you might be using a different exchange rate from what the bank does.
As far as the situation with one of our bartenders taking payment out of tips, for serving a drink is untrue as they do not handle orders/payments. We have stations with cashiers and waiters to take orders at the bar and the rest of the property.

The white-haired man is the captain of waiters, he ruined our night, there were 9 of us and we paid a fortune each for 3 hours of open bar, but when there was still 1 hour left before it was over, he no longer wanted to serve us more alcohol, he He behaved UNFAIR and RUDE. If you don't want to be angry, don't even go!! I hope the administration does something because in general all the waiters were friendly…

Waitresses play a tic tac toe game which is pretty clever that you can't win. Drinks were absolutely ridiculously priced and very watered down. We had multiple shots and drinks and didn't even have a buzz. Very cool inside, but for $20 a person just to get in, it is absolutely not worth it. Waiter at the end of the night said we absolutely had to give a $55 tip. Absolutely absurd.

This placed used to be the Mecca for a good party. Not sure if it’s due to pandemic but it seems they are more interested in rouchy activities. Obviously Americans get preference and probably don’t pay the outrageous 400 pesos cover price. Saying it’s a minimum consumption price and you get 2 beers. Note that the beer costs 85 pesos. Something doesn’t add up.

This was a great restaurant to go to. The staff were fun and the food was fantastic!!!! I am a celiac and I presented a card that explained in Spanish what my allergy was and what I couldn’t have. Our waiter was so accommodating to me, talked to the chef, and came back a few times to confirm with me what was gluten free to eat. This was a great experience as being a celiac that’s not always the service I get.

Should you get the all you can drink pass?

We did not take it because we were not planning to stay for long which we ended up doing. The all you can drink in my country includes normally a low quality liquor unless they specify is premium so, I do NOT recommend it. We were 4 and spent 6-7 hours there, we probably spent $50 per person including tips and each drank different things.

Call em. There isn’t like a vip area with soft seating etc. It’s booths and tables with a bunch of barely 21 year olds. You could reserve but there is a price for everything. You could probably request the booths next to each other. You can stand on the back of the booths and walk over. People also tend to dance on tables. A booth fits maybe 10 people.

depends. I go to cabo 2-3 times a year... and I have seen them card. If you look under 18 I'm sure they will ask. On other times I have seen them just walk in.

We never paid a cover charge. The passport (I am assuming that is what you are referring to) was a discount card for activities, restaurants, etc in the Cabos area. It is definitely well worth the money if you plan on going on any activities.
