Organic Tour in Huerta Los Tamarindos: 45 minutes, 6 guest minimum, $38 USD. Guests arrive and congregate under the large mango tree where they are offered fresh juice or iced lemon grass tea. As this is a working organic farm with strict hygiene standards, they will be asked to wash and disinfect their hands before the tour begins. Baskets and scissors will be distributed for collecting produce from the field, and participants will receive an instructional flier with information on organic agriculture. As the tour continues to the field, the guide, an agricultural engineer with vast experience as an organic farmer, will point out different aromatic herbs and vegetables, demonstrate the proper way to pick each of them, and explain what it takes to become a certified organic farm and how this differs from conventional farming. The last 10 minutes of the tour will be devoted to questions and answers from the tour group. There will be an opportunity for guests to use the restroom or have another glass of juice or iced tea. The tour will end in the ranch house, affording guests the opportunity to purchase a variety of products produced on the farm, including tomato sauce, and infused oils.

We love this restaurant. It's a wonderful alternative to Flora's which is just down the road. Two different, but terrific, versions of Baja farm to table.

We spent 4 hours here. 1st a tour of the farm and then a cooking class in the open air kitchen, followed by lunch. Super fun - and tasty!

The view over the organic garden with an occasional cow playing with her young one and the uncommon gardener milling around. It could be the chef coming out to greet guests inviting you into his kitchen, or the wait staff wanting to offer a lemongrass tea, but truly it is the food. Full of color, spice, truly beautiful food.

What Flora Farms is to Napa Valley, Los Tamarindos is to Mexico. Which is to say, we like it better than Flora Farms because it feels real and authentic to San Jose. Great food, wonderful service.

We hoped the taxi, driving through the desert, was taking us to the right place..and then we saw the sign and breathed a sigh of relief. An oasis nestled on the side of a hill. We attended a cooking class and I got a kick out of the whole adventure. Cooking with fire!! THE best margaritas that we had on our... More

there are a lot of local artisans. Lovely jewellery but fairly expensive. A little out of the way for tourists but I enjoyed the hour I was there

My wife, daughter and I did the farm tour and cooking class and meal at Los Tamarindos during our recent Baja vacation. The 45 minute chat in the fields where we learned about organic farming was informative, as were several aspects of the cooking class that followed. One of the questions I asked our host, chef Enrique, was whether he... More
