Cool little taste of real Mexico. Would visit again. A lot of shops and bars and restaurants and a beautiful church in the plaza.

If you go to Cabo San Lucas you have to drive over to San Jose del Cabo. The shops are quaint, the food is great and there are fewer crowds. You won't have to deal with a lot of tourists so you get a authentic...More

Many of we expats who live here tend to think of "Cabo" San Lucas as a party town for spring breakers and fishermen ... and San Jose as for adults. The square reflects this. Colonial, more authentically Mexican, more tranquil. Sure we have tourists coming...More

Delightful place to stop and wait for Mass to begin at the church (St. Joseph - San José). Be sure to grab a quick helado at the shop on the south side of the square. Dining all around the plaza!

This has the old Mexico feel as it has been there since the mid 1800s. Beautiful shops and galleries. Lots of food places too. Just a great walking and shopping area.

I am sure that when renovations are finished this will be a nice area to walk around. We were there mid June 2017 and it was completely under construction.

When this area of town is made accessible it becomes a wonderful venue for all kinds of music and performance groups. Both locals and visitors fill the surrounding square to enjoy the atmosphere.

This is a very nice area to walk around in, especially at night. There is almost always something going on down there, but just to walk through the shops & do the art walk is enough.

You can use US dollars and your visa but you'll pay a bit more. Most shops barter on their own conversion and prefer US dollars. But you'll get better deals with peso.
Does anyone know if there are busses that run to and from Cabo San Lucas and San Jose? If so how long is the trip/cost?

Absolutely. It's the Routa del Desierto. It's opposite the Mega Mall. It will take you directly to where the Marina is and where the tours begin. It's about 30 to 45 minutes in air conditioned comfort. Cost is $ 2 us

We booked through Costco . 2 people including airfare 4,500.00 - 3,500.00. Just depends on which hotel you pick. And of course time of year.
