We were expecting to see a nice, huge and interesting old colonial building, but we got much more than that. We were surprised by the quality and cosmopolitan diversity of a great set of exhibits: a collection of paintings and other art works by artists from a notorious indigenous town from Michoacan’s Purhépecha highlands, an ensemble of paintings by a well known Michoacan painter, a surprising collection of kimonos by a Japanese fashion designer who settled down in Mexico and whose work has influenced fashion design in Michoacan, as the design of some of other pieces exhibited shows, an audiovisual exhibit on the history of French cinema, etc. It includes a small cafeteria close to the exit.

This former convent houses among other things, an art museum. There was a Leonora Carrington retrospective. Beautiful architecture gives you a sense of history.

We enjoyed on a few occasions walking through this very peaceful building with it's interesting art. The plus side is that it was free of charge and could walk through any time to enjoy the ambiance!

Temporary exhibits of Mexican fine art and arte popular, always well curated and so worth seeing. Opening on April 11: photography by Florence Leyret Jeune, a chronicler of Michoacán indigenous life. Don't miss it.

The building is very beautiful and has wonderful murals. The people are friendly, it's a shame that they took me out for taking photos, and there is no announcement indicating that it is not allowed, the person mentioned that because it was a photo shoot when I only had a phone, in that aspect it left me very sad, I had I really want to visit it

A spectacular architectural space, there are always art exhibitions but the building and its history are the best
