The government building for the state of Zacatecas is located on the south side of this plaza, the town's main square.

This plaza always has something going on here. From the September 15th Independence day celebration, to concerts, to art shows, to marathons, it is the center of what is happening in Zacatecas. I stay in the Hotel Emporio which is right across the street and...More

We visited in wintertime, the plaza itself was hidden by tribunes, large skating rink and loads of wiring all around. Far too many people for our taste, so we avoided it.

The Plaza de Armas is used for big outdoor concerts at different times of the year. At these times security is tight and there are people everywhere. Concertgoers line up 4-5 hours in advance for popular artists.

Adjacent to the cathedral, this space often house performances of many kinds. With imaginative lighting and dancing waters from its fountain, this busy plaza is worth a visit.

I loved the city, but this plaza doesn't offer anything and is mostly empty. The cathedral is located here and is the only thing to do at this plaza.

it's about a nice colonial era plaza surrounded by many nice old buildings , it's a good place for a walk or to have a seat in it.

Its a plaza, there is music and there is drunk people by night, the place is safe and its worth walking to it on a weekend and just enjoy the place with the locals. During the day is just another plaza.

Nice Colonial Plaza another example of why Zacatecas is a wonderful stop! As many colonial plazas are ... this is a wonderful place to walk around and imagine how this place was thousands of years ago!

To my mind, this is one of the more mundane principal plazas I've seen in Mexico. It's not even in front of the Cathedral, but instead is parked next to it, like an afterthought, below street level, with a shabby city hall running its length....More
