To conclude today’s tour, my husband and I took in the cathedral, more significant as an important focus for the people of Puebla than as an example of interesting architecture and décor. We found it an imposing structure with high arched ceilings and the expected chapels to various saints lining the nave. By the standards of Mexican Baroque, the decoration is restrained.

Simply breathtaking and beautiful. A must stop for any visitor to the city. Take time to look at the choir section with their huge organ pipes and the majestic central altar. You then must realize that this building was built hundred of years ago.

Most of the Cathedrals and churches are beautiful and this one is no different. Many churches are closed but this one was open, social distancing, pews blocked off, X's on the open ones to keep your distance, gel and mat at the entrance, seperate exit.
Great location also.

An impressive cathedral next to the main square in the historical center. Though not as gilded as some other churches , it is nevertheless beautiful inside especially the altar. In my opinion, a bit more Romanesque than Spanish baroque. Do not miss.

The church is across from the Zocalo park and plaza in Puebla's historic center. We arrived as Mass was ending. The organist was still playing and the main alter was illuminated. The Cathedral is huge with many chapels. It is nearly 400 years old and a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The city's cathedral is the pride of the people of Puebla, an example of baroque art whose construction began in the 16th century. Its two seventy-meter-high bell towers are imposing.
On this occasion I watched it from the plinth decorated with the "All Saints" celebrations.
Enjoy the historic center of Puebla de los Ángeles because: LIFE...is a JOURNEY!

Interesting city in Mexico where you can find the huge Cathedral and the replica of the Sistine Chapel. Beautiful and historical church of the Immaculate Conception. The Sistine Chapel is very much alike the original one in Rome. Spectacular 😊

The Cathedral Basilica de Puebla stands high about anything else in the immediate area and serves to be a centre piece over the Zocalo that makes for a stunning capture. The interior is one of the most beautiful that I have witnessed and it is thus definitely classified as a must see.

Go this year to any and all Cathedrals to walk through the main doors of forgiveness! Beautiful architecture and artwork. Cathedrals in Mexico rival those in Europe, must see.

It's not because I'm from Puebla, but because I have visited so many cathedrals in Mexico and in Spain, this one it's very impressive! Just the history alone, I'm not a believer but I actually like the history is another mystery like how they build the pyramids in Egypt, well, there are no documents in how they got the big bell on top of the tallest tower! Then walking inside you can see different cultures French, Spanish, Mexican, I just know that once you see this cathedral you will see how beautiful is!! Also remember that you are in one of the best states in Mexico!
