The zocalo (central plaza) is a busy place which incorporates the cathedral and city hall. It is surrounded by restaurants and we suggest having breakfast or lunch on one of the first floor balconies overlooking the plaza to take in all activities below. Several museums...More

A really large and beautiful square surrounded by nice buildings, cafes and restaurants. There is a real buzz about the place until late in the evening. We were lucky enough to see a parade when we were there. Excellent !

A very nice public square with a lot of history. Free wifi is available here, which makes it a nice place to sit and watch the crowds.

9 of us enjoyed our trip to Taxco. We enjoyed the zocalo with its shopping, bar hopping and enjoying the restaurantes. People were friendly and never felt any concerns for safety. Lots of music and activities.

In my personal opinion this is one of the places that you need to know and take some time to walk around and know it's history. During the day or night, enjoy it during the weekends and during the night know the legends.
