This museum has plenty of exhibits, showing the history of Hurtigruten. Will probably only appeal to those on the Hurtigruten cruise. Worth a visit never the less. Don't expect too much.

excellent, could only stay a short while but worth the 50NKr, good to see the Finmark ship and to be able to wander round at leisure.

Like many visitors we can on a Hurtigruten ship (Nordlys) which only gave us about 45 minutes to explore the museum. They charge 50nok for Hurtigruten customers, otherwise 90nok (£5/£9). Supposedly the reduced entry fee compensates for the restricted time the coastal cruise allows. But even so, £5 for 45 minutes is overpriced. Having said that, the museum is excellent... More

Visited the museum whilst on a cruise from Kerkenes to Bergen. I thought I would need more than the time available to me to see the museum. However it didn't take me long. It does feature part if an old ship which is a bit like a maze and takes some escaping from!

We visited the Hurtigruten Museum whilst in Stokmarknes and it was very cleverly designed giving you a very good idea of how the Hurtigruten ships looked and operated in the early days. There are numerous models showing off their entire fleet, there is a ship from the 1950's that you can actually see and I suggest doing this first. There... More

Thank you for your visit. We are trying hard to enable people get a good info about the Hurtigruten history since 1893, when the first Hurtigruten ship SS Vesteraalen left Trondheim the 2nd of July that year on the first Hurtigruten voyage. The Hurtigruten Museum have excisted since 1993. Now we have great plans for the future. Welcome back on... More

Interesting place to visit (well, really the only thing you can do in Stokmarnes with the boat stopping only for an hour, unless you want to stay overnight). The exhibits are interesting and well presented, and it really gives you a nice oversight of the history of the Express Steamer. Couple of downpoints: -since it belongs to the company, the... More

Thank you for your visit in the Hurtigruten Museum. The museum do not belong to the Hurtigruten company. It is a private museum, and the Hurtigruten is not involved. The museum operates with reduced prices for the passengers from the Hurtigruten. Our normal price is NOK 90,-. We are aware of the fact that time is short for our guests... More

Interesting historical view of a fully furnished Hurtigruten ship form the 1950's. Worth a visit if you go as soon as ship docks - I left a bit late and didn't get so see everything

We visited the Hurtigruten Museum during a stop on the ship at Stokmarknes, Norway. The ship only stops for a short time so when one is on the Hurtigruten ship you have to be careful of your time during the stop. There is time enough to visit the museum during the stop if you go directly to the museum which... More

Thank you for visiting our museum. We are now planning to build a big building surrounding the MS Finnmarken, and we also hope to finish the work on the interior of the SS Finmarken 1912 within 2018. We consider this bit will become the jewel of the museum. Welcome back on a later occasion. More
