Lots of great things to do here, from world class birding to late night glow in the dark algae trips, a must visit in the area whatever you come for!

This is trip to see the glowing night time waters was just a short trip from our hotel and not expensive. we felt that it was really not very exciting and not worth the money.

Don’t go unless it is a moonless night. They Will let you swim in a tent to see the effects but not really the experience we expected. Don’t pay a lot either. We paid 300 pesos each .

Amazing birthday, starting going through the swap and observing a crocodile, then watching how sweet and salty sea collide.. after hiking the mountain to the lighthouse and observe the fantastic view... the restaurants at Chacahua beach, not that good but it’s worth the nature experience

I would recommend goofing as late as possible as the darker it is the more bioluminescence will show. Also if your Spanish is good you can go straight to the lagoon and deal the price there as it will be way cheaper than if... More

You can check the lunar calendar to see where your trip falls during the moon cycle. I can not recommend a bioluminescent tour when there is a lot of moonlight, but during the darker 1/2 of the month, others have said it is... More

To hire kayaks, no tour operators are needed, just take a collectivo or taxi to Puesta del Sol lodge/restaurant. Go early, it gets very hot in late morning.
