This area was pretty much what we expected: a lovely beach, yes, but red flags up and we did see either a few cautious swimmers or a couple of people gasping as they fled the surf! Huge, towering all inclusives dot the beach and there...More

I walked to this beach which ends in a rocky outpost, from my hotel's beachside. There's a local man that sells fresh shucked oysters for 100 pesos a plate, by the rocks. I tried it and didn't have any problems, even though he didn't have...More

Very nice beach and one of the few open sea beaches where you can swim( at the southern end, near Dorado Pacifico)with relative safety. Need to be very careful though due to riptides and sudden 6 foot waves.

Beautiful sandy beach, no rocks, big waves, clear to the bottom. Lots to do here right off the beach; body surfing, boogie boarding, sea-dooing, parasailing. All week long was sunny and hot (at least 30' celcius). I want to go BACK!

I have visited often and used to swim at Playa El Palmar, near Pacifica resort and Hotel Barceló. But in the past year, the lagoon has gotten more and more contaminated and SMELLY! The lagoon water empties into the ocean. I don't think the water...More
