A magnificent place where the oldest temple is from the 7th Century AD. One can see the progression of the artistry from Aihole Hampi to Pattadakal. Truly a fabulous place for coronations in the 7th - 9th centuries.

Temple is located 23 KM from Badami in Pattakadal.very beautiful & properly maintained by ASI . you will love visiting this place. Accomodation is not there ,so need to stay in Badami

The architecture of the temple is mesmerizing. The columns are decorated with intricate artwork. Inside the temple we had a good darshan too. Situated near the foot of hemakuta hills. Largest of all the monuments in Pattadakal. Denotes the architectural skills of ancient times. Built by lokamahadevi of Pallava dynasty. This is temple is inspiration for building Kailasantha temple in Ellora.
