We have been to Jardin des Olfacties several times on previous family holidays to the Vendée and it has been one of our favourite places. Sadly, as per the last review from Sept 2017, it has gone downhill dramatically, the reason is not clear but I suspect they have run out of funding. The entrance building is closed and the website is down. You can still access some parts of the park, which are still nice although not as well cared for as before, but certainly not worth a special trip. The parts of the gardens that had the smelling plants are not accessible. Very sad to see one of our favourite places in this state, hope they can restore it to former glories one day.

The gardens were much more neglected this year than last. Access is now via some back entrance rather than the main entrance. Not sure what is happening here, I hope that the decline does not continue

We went here well out of season in October but had a very pleasant hour wandering around. There was still lots to see and photograph but I would imagine it would be breathtaking in the summer.

The garden is now free of charge to all people rather than just local residents. It is quite small but well laid out with ponds, water features and geese and swans. It is a good place to sit and rest with a picnic. At the right time of year it is full of interesting perfumes - probably June is best. We call in on every visit to Coex.

September is not the best time to visit if you want to see and smell a range of flowers. However the scent of the roses was still quite strong and the garden remains a tranquil and beautiful location for a visit (and it's free!).

Disappointing after being much heralded. Going in September of course means few flowers and scents. Tidy lawns and paths and some beds but most was unkempt. Fountains.

Amazing place, the gardens are beautiful and the amount of different plants and fruit is plentiful, good few hours can be spent here.

What a fascinating place in the middle of the town. It was advertised elsewhere about a night-time light and music attraction but since it has become free to enter that little bonus has disappeared. Walking around as a non gardener it was good, I did enjoy it but it could do with a little bit of tlc. My wife on the other hand thought it was lovely and natural and totally enjoyed the walk and experience
