The cathedral was breath taking. As I visited during the month of May, offerings and devotions were being offered to the Virgin Mary. The history and architecture that was preserved is definitely a site to see. So beautiful and humbling.

If you have seen one big church, you have seen them all. As architecture it is massive. Lots of icons and lots of stained glass. As a social comment about the churches wealth vs. the struggling people not so impressive.

Went on a city tour and this was one of the stops. I'm not overly religious butvit was still nice to see.

A grand, sumptuously decorated cathedral. Well looked after, situated in the centre of Durango. Maybe not one to go out of your way for, but if you're in town it's worth sticking your head in.

This beautiful cathedral located in the centre of Durango began to be constructed in 1695. It is one of the more impressive Mexican cathedrals on the inside. It is a must see attraction in the heart of the nice downtown area.
