Florencio was our guide to the peak. 7 hours of hiking for a 55 year old out of shape. Altitude sickness is a real thing! Hardest thing I have ever done and I would do it again if I had the chance.

We only viewed the volcano from afar, we were on the bus to Colima, however it was good enough to continually spew smoke from the top much to our excitement.

Nice hike, be aware you need a 4wd to get there (16k dirt road with big potholes).. I didn't have one.. and well.. not recommended.. the hike itself is great, easy to find. For first timers, a guide could be welcoming..

It was my first time viewing a volcano and wow what an experience. There was an eruption just 2 weeks prior to our trip but it looked regal and majestic even when it was calm just spewing some smoke. It's a must visit if you...More
