What a strange place. The road was great and the directions easy. It was wierd to drive past some grim characters, straight out of a Tarantino movie, full ready with assault rifles, and that grim look. They were guarding the Iron mine. Which goes to show you that private armies are real- when you can afford to hire them. El... More

What a beautiful site! My family and I truly liked this site which is a wonderful natural formation... we loved it! It is roughly an hour from downtown Colima but it is a very enjoyable countryside drive. Enjoy the waterfall but plan on skipping the water park that isn't very well kept nor develeped... Hope this helps! PS - The... More

This is a beautiful area of Colima, unfortunately, the park is not very well maintained which is unfortunate as it would be a lovely place to have a picnic or stop off on your way to Colima.

We have lived part-time within 1.5 hours of El Salto falls for near 20 years and just yesterday we visited there. It was about 1.5 hours from Colima, Colima by very good but winding narrow road. It was the second week of Mexican vacaciones so there were quite a few people at the kioskas on top of the parque. But... More

After the reading the reviews, here I wasn't sure what to expect, but we just loved it. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids ages 4/6. Left Manzanillo around 10:30 and we were swimming in the falls by 12:00. It is true that the drive has beautiful views and deadly turns. Just take it slow and be sure... More

Firstly, I happened to be driving up on a day that the huge, iron ore trucks were barreling down the winding road to get to the train on time. Crosses on most corners. I was a wreck by the time I arrived. Then, the bathroom was worse than I've seen anywhere in Mexico. Worse than Nigeria! The falls and pools... More

The grounds were dirty, with garbage blowing about. The buildings were crumbling, and there was graffiti on many rocks and concrete surfaces. The handrail at the waterfall had rusted through and fallen onto the rocks below.

Great place for a family picnic, highly recommend to pack a lunch and plan to go on a hot day to get maximum enjoyment, the air does feel a little cool down in the base of the falls, or you can choose a warmer spot at a higher spot until the heat of the day (rock flat top) with full... More

A good friend of ours took us to see El Salto, and we had a wonderful time! The area around the waterfall has been turned into a bit of a water park and picnic area, and is very lush and well-tended. The water in the water park actually comes into the park from the river, works through a couple of... More

Nice and natural. Near minatitlan. Perfect for a family picnic and memorable pictures. Best if you arrive early because it take some road time.
