About
Bleasdale Vineyards is Australia's second oldest family-owned and operated winery, renowned for our premium dry red and white table wines and luscious fortifieds. Established in 1850, when English migrant Frank Potts travelled through the region and noticed its potential through the rich, fertile soils and enormous red gum trees lining the banks of the Bremer River. It was with these red gum trees that Frank and his descendants were to craft the 3.5 tonne lever press and wine vats that can still be seen in the winery today. Over 165 years later, we invite you to visit our historic winery, taste our award winning wines and experience the contribution made by generations of family members who have continued the Frank Potts legacy.

A venerable winery
Mar. 2021 • Couples
One of the earliest local vineyards (1850s), still producing prize winning tipples, including unusual Malbec. There are huge, magnificent barrels made of redgum planks, and an astonishing, massive vernacular wine press. Great experience!

Memories!
Aug. 2020
Travelling through this region brought back many memories of travelling through with my parents, many years ago. And in many ways this wonderful winery has not changed, although obviously it would have had to. But the cellar door was fascinating, full of memories and again also very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Our visit was short, but we were guided well and are very happy with our purchase.

Historical Winery
Nov. 2019
Started by Fred Potts in 1850 and with the winery building dating back to the 1880's this vineyard is steeped in history. While the girls had a pleasureable tasting time, I wandered around the old winery. Built of limestone & local hardwoods, the place has stood the test of time and is well worth a look see. The tasting room is also full of the history of the vineyard & interesting on its own.

Hi Sjoerd C, Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review of your recent visit to Bleasdale and for sharing your stand out wines of our portfolio. Langhorne Creek is a beauty for such varietals. James Halliday has said "Bleasdale are the masters of Malbec in Australia" which is an absolute credit to our winemaker & viticultural team for producing, as you say, 'amazing' Malbec. Teresa is an asset to our Cellar Door team, and it's always a delight to be served by a member of the Potts family who is incredibly knowledgeable. We hope you can visit again, and continue to enjoy our wines. Warm regards, Ebony

An iconic name in the Langhorne Creek region, founded by the Potts family, it is awesome to see some of the family still working in the business.
Terese is 5th generation (her mum was a Potts) and it was awesome to chat to her enlighten us on her family and their beautiful wines.
Steeped in history, it was great to see the Old Redgum press and some of the relics from the original winery on display.
Although some of their labels are available in mainstream bottle shops, ensure you taste the exclusive wines and get your taste buds dancing with delight.

Had a fantastic, friendly experience at Bleasdale. Tried the complimentary tasting menu and paid for the behind the scenes tour which was well worth it for only $20 each! A hidden gem.

Nice Cellar Door but the staff seemed a little disinterested and distracted. Parking was good and toilets available.

On our way to Adelaide we came upon this wonderful winery
Jan. 2019 • Couples
We were warmly greeted by a descendant of the family who started this fantastic winery. We tried many of the very good wines and then were given a tour. One of the highlights of our trip along the Great Ocean Road. We bought two of our favourite wines, that we eventually left with a friend in Adelaide as a gift. The friends parents, visited a couple of weeks later from UK and brought one of the bottles back with them. They visited us last weekend, bringing the bottle with them and although it had travelled so many miles tasted wonderful! Brought back all those wonderful memories.
