We came here in the evening. Here was just a few people wandering around. So we enjoyed a lot, quietness, unobserved walks of nuns, and the sound of tree knocking the invitation to pray.

In Barsana we first went to see the monastery and after that we went to visit the UNESCO wooden church. The monastery is very nice, but the wooden church (it in the Barsana town) is far more interesting. When we came there it was closed,...More

This monastery is located on a hill, near the main road. The building are not crowded and a splendid rose garden lies between this buildings. It's very well maintained.

Both the believers and non believers in our group loved this monastery. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Romania. It is very beautiful.

Really loved the simple style of wooden church and buildings, beautifully and lovingly crafted and carved from wood. The site is made peacefull and serene by the multitude of flowers and green. Loved it!

In the difference to many others, here you will visit a modern place. You will still have a good view and a classical orthodox church. But you will share this with many others (if you are not off-season) and all the modern "commercial" way to...More

This monastery is a real jewel of architecture. Everything is nice and well maintained, large space allowing you to see each building in full splendor. A must see if you visit Maramures.
