Sunshine Village sits high on the Continental Divide in the heart of Banff National Park, and is just minutes from the mountain town of Banff. Three sprawling mountains provide breathtaking sitelines, uninterrupted by any signs of civilization beyond the resort's leasehold. Ski or ride in Alberta and British Columbia in one run. Sunshine Village's seven-month season stretches from early November until late May - the longest non-glacial season in Canada. The Village's altitude of 7,082 feet ensures the snow stays dry. Sunshine can receive up to nine metres (30 feet) of snow in a season, and it stays all year.

We are rating our visit 5 starts all because of our Snowhost, Derek. We are avid skiers who have skied all over North America and came out to Banff to ski the Big 3. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t the very best - snow was great...More

This morning there was no sun and with the wind it was fiercely cold. There is one single lift that is covered, while the other lifts provide no shelter. The view was great and I'll come back when the sun shines --- but I would...More

This is my ninth year of a participation in this course with the same ski instructor James Ordway. I started to downhill skiing quite late when I was 52 years old. After three years of frustration and "self taught skiing" I inrolled in just that...More

It really depends on the weather too and what time of year you are heading up there. But yes well worth the hike, stunning scenery! And yes, wear comfortable hiking shoes.
