I took the Banff Gondola to reach the summit of this mountain.
I paid for admission to take the Banff Gondola up to the summit of Sulphur Mountain. There were trails of boardwalks that lead to the actual highest point. The panoramas were incredible. This attraction was crowded. There were also indoor areas to gather.

Feel the fear and do it anyway!!
I’m afraid of heights but thought just feel the fear and do it.So I went, put in pods and listened to calming music and held on.I’m glad I did as the views are amazing!Going back down is so much easier than going up. I was booked for 9.10am.Definitely book before 10am as it gets v crowded.I was given 1 hour and 20 minutes at the top so don’t hang about unless you don’t want to use the boardwalk or you plan to walk down. The only thing that really marred the experience at the top was the loud ,rock, pop music playing. All the senses could have been stimulated by nature if the noise was omitted.I know I listened to music on the gondola but it was calming and it was only me hearing it.That’s why I have gave given 4 stars and not 5.

    Amazing views
The experience from start to finish was amazing, the views from the gondola ride going both up amd down were breathtaking! We didn't book in advance, we just arrived, paid and got straight onto the gondola, and also quickly purchased some supplies from the Starbucks to enjoy at the top. The views were outstanding, it was a perfectly clear day, we did the boardwalk to the old weather station place, and even saw a tiny Pika doing its thing! Living at sea level we did notice the difference in the air at the 2000mtrs but we plodded on! And once we finished the boardwalk we treated ourselves to a nice glass of wine from the cafe and sat outside to enjoy the wonderful views.

more than the gondola - and dress in layers even in summer
We went for the gondola ride, which takes about eight minutes one way. In itself that is interesting - but expensive. But pleasantly surprised that the experience is more inclusive. There is a small group of exhibits at the top about local geography, geology and culture. There is a snack shop and more formal restaurant (where you will want to make reservations, especially is you request a window table). The deck is expansive with impressive views in all directions. A wooden walkway, about 2/3 of a mile leads to the historic cosmic ray station, with interesting signs along the way. And the cosmic ray station is a unique scientific oddity. So what we thought was a gondola ride became, pleasantly, quite a bit more. Still expensive, but more justifiable. An additional plus: we reserved a time for the gondola ride but arrived early (the outstanding bus system stops here) and the staff easily accommodated us without a wait. BTW, it's windy and much cooler at the top.

There was fresh snow on the trees, boardwalk and benches the morning we were there. Breathtaking scenery!

Well organised. Spectacular views - the weather moves quickly so don't be disappointed if it is cloudy at first. Worth a trip

Took the Gondola up to Mt Sulphur. It is simply incredible up here, with breathtaking views of the Rockies and Banff.

If you are physically able, walk the 5k up the zigzag trail , at your pace between 1.5 to 2.5 hrs, it will save you the cable car fee and feel proud of he achievement. Plus you will deserve the coffee and cake whilst enjoying the views.
Take some water for the 5k ascent
Start early because people are pouring from the cable cars and can make it very busy at top.
The walk back down is rewarding, followed by a dip in the hot springs.

We were on top of the world. The gondola was a beautiful ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain. So many interesting and interactive things to do once you reach the summit. It is well worth the price of the ticket. We walked on the boardwalk to the cosmic ray station; incredible experience. The "Nightrise "light show" was awesome Loved the entire experience.

we had reservations at the restaurant which guarantees a window table which was great. Very nice walking on the well maintained board walks with great views of the mountains and valleys
