Another attraction which is the victim of its own success....too busy nowadays. We visited in Sept so dread to think how crowded it must be during the really busy season.

We had barely got out at the top before we were being told to join the queue - 20 minutes to get back down, Views were good but no time to enjoy them.

The views at the top of this hike are beautiful. The boardwalk is great with lots of information on the way up to the old weather station. The hike itself is mostly just switch back up the side of the mountain, but the grade is really not bad making for a very doable hike with some nice viewpoints. At the... More

My husband and I along with 51 other seniors were touring the Canadian Rockies and this was one of our stops. We came early in the morning so it was fogged in so we were disappointed. However, we went up in the gondola, got off and walked around. We took some pictures of Sulfur Mountain which were beautiful. There is... More

When we booked the gondola we wer advised it was cloudy and we may not see much at the top. Despite the hail and rain it was unbelievable. The gondola took us above the clouds and into what looked like something from a fantasy film. The walk to the weather station was a bit of an effort to make but... More

You can either hike to the top or take the gondola. We were lazy, so we took the gondola. The gondola is quite expensive, but will get you on the top in no time. The views on Banff from Sulphur Mountain really are incredible, extra bonus points for the reconstructed weather station and the interesting information about the Cosmic Ray... More

This was really great! All of us had a terrific time - the gondola ride was sweet! The view from the observation decks were outstanding too! Walk up to the old weather station and take a peek inside. Worth it totally dude!!

I just came back from the Banff National Park and the last day was the Mount Sulphur hike. It worth the effort even if the hike wasn't the easiest and I'm a fit person. The trail is made of switchbacks, some are steeper. It took me two hours as I stopped few times to catch my breath. Having a heavy... More

This was our first hike in Banff. Highly recommend for a morning hike before taking on more challenging trails further out of the park during your visit. Parking is easy to find- the trailhead is right by the gondola parking lot. It took us an hour and a half to the summit. There may be mountain goats at the top,... More
