We went with some friends up to Johnston Canyon. We had taken snow shoes which makes it a lot easier to traverse the trail. The scenery is spectacular -- arrive early as it does get busy quickly. It is an easy hike (not to strenuous)...More

Great Family day out, Jordan was an absolute pleasure & made the day much more fun than expected. Our 10yr old thought this was not going to be fun but loved it, mainly thanks to Jordan's interaction. Can't wait for our Snowshoeing now & really...More

What a great hike/walk. It's not too strenuous at all, beautiful from the beginning to end. We got a nice bonus of arriving at the Upper Falls at the same time a group of guys were ice climbing. That was fascinating to watch. One note,...More

We had a glorious sunny day for our ice walk/hike in Johnston Canyon. Took our ice grips and hiking poles which were absolutely necessary. The frozen trail, frozen waterfalls and icy canyon walls were spectacular. The trail has railings and metal walkways in places and...More

Beautiful hike, if you go in winter be sure to rent the ice grips for your boots,, this saved myself and husband many times. Do not go here with out renting ice grips.

Neil was the best tour guide. So friendly. He paced us well, up and down the canyon. Some amazing views. He was so informative on the ride to and from Johnston Canyon and on the hike.

We stopped here on our way to Lake Louise in the summer. Fortunately it wasn't too busy. One of the Rangers explained that bears often hang around the car park so you need to have your wits about you. The walkway along the river was...More

If you see it in winter pack warm clothes as well as good hiking shoes as the pathway can become slick, depending on how many people have been walking along the track. Seeing it in winter, was truly breathtaking and there weren’t the crowds like...More

I have to admit that I did enjoy this one, and I normally eschew crowded places. Maybe it was the rushing water running basically under my feet, or maybe the clean scented breeze in the air, or maybe the multitude of small wildlife running near...More

Hi, Someone else asked a similar question. There was no barrier across the car park or footpath to the falls so it might not have an 'opening' time. A lot of people even parked on the grass as the car park was full so you... More
