I have attended two Sunrise photoshoots with Brian and have come back happy both the times. His knowledge of the best locations in Banff is excellent and his enthusiasm for photography is infectious. I would highly recommend Brian's workshops for anyone who is interested in landscape photography, especially in the Banff area.

I had a great time with Brian today. I was too sick to join the large group last week so we arranged for a half day tour. Brian was punctual, engaging, patient, and knowledgeable. We visited a handful of sites and chatted about photography, climbing, travel and life. It was a perfect way to efficiently and effectively capture some great images and learn how to improve my shooting. I’m already planning for my next session. Thanks Brian! Great session.

Thanks Thomas,
I really enjoyed your company on the tour too. You are an interesting person and it was a pleasure to spend some time with you. I hope that we can do it again soon, maybe in Lake O'Hara! I'll keep trying for that!

We, a group of 6 from Hong Kong, spent 2 days with Brian in Banff National Park. We all gave 100/100 points to Brian. Brian brought us to around 8 photography spots a day and found us the best locations to shoot, with tips to shoot. Without Brian, it would take us 3 times more time to find the locations, which some are not the usual tourist spots. Brian is knowledgeable not only on photography and places, but also on species names and biology etc. On photography, Brian taught us his special vertical motion effect on forrest and trees image. Brian inspired us on water drop reflection image, snowflake, waterfall, eagles, Canada geese and Elk photography etc. This photography trip with Brian is really fun to us! We would recommend Brian to our friends! And we would definitely book Brian again for our next trips. Thank you, Brian, for your effort and great services!

I knew I was going to be covering a lot of ground during our wee-long trip to the Rockies. While I have been to the park before, I knew I was still just scratching at the surface. I booked Brian for a full day adventure, and we started out at sunrise near Jasper. We continued back towards the ice fields, and Brian presented multiple options for me to choose based on interest, time of day, weather, etc. He offered suggestions when asked - and probably kept quiet when he sensed I was determined to do something my way :) I chuckled a few times when he could point to a specific spot in the dirt and say THIS is where to get the best shot! Given I was balancing a family vacation w/ photography goals - this was the perfect outing.

Hi Brent,
Thank you very much for the kind review. I really enjoyed our time together. It is kind of funny how I sometime point to a specific spot for guests to stand to get the right balance between the foreground and the background when photographing the iconic locations here in the Rockies. I've spent years figuring out "the right patch of dirt to stand on for the best shot!" lol!
Sincerely yours,
Brian Merry

Visited Banff for the first time and a friend recommended doing a tour, and I am so glad I did it. If you are headed this way you HAVE to stop and take one of Brian's tours! So many beautiful sights that I wouldn't have seen on my own. Definitely the highlight of my visit and I will be back again! 10/10 recommend!

I joined Brian Merry for his "Cape Breton Fall Colours Photography Tour" in October 2021 and was very impressed with the quality of the presentations and how helpful he was if I had any questions. He took us to lesser known areas in addition to the Cabot Trail that are great places to photograph. The group was small - 5 people so was good. I would do another tour for sure.

This was my 3rd Fall Colours Tour with Brian Merry. This year we completed the entire Cabot Trail. Even though the weather was not great and the leaves in some areas were past prime, Brian, having grown up in Cape Breton, was able to take us to locations to provide an excellent photographic experience. Brian was always willing to mentor about photographic techniques and landscape compositions. I highly recommend Brian Merry and the Fall Colours Tour of Cape Breton Island.

Spent a few hours at one of Brian’s presentations. Lots of excellent information regardless of your photography knowledge. Brian’s enthusiasm for photography was obvious. Looking forward to possibly attending one of his workshops.

Hi Kito,
July is our warmest month with highs in the mid to high 20s common (~ 70-85F). I do have most of the July open right now with just a handful of booking already confirmed. You can see my pric s for a private tour on my website, which is what you’d want. A half day your would be $350 and a full day your to Jasper and back for the whole family would be $600 including lunch.
Please contact at brian (at) bmerryphotography (period) com or 403-763-114 if you’d like to book.
Sincerely yours,
Brian Merry
