Easy float on a raft down the Bow River. Starts just past the falls. There was one small splash on this trip..out 8yr old was pumped to get a little spray. If it were an adult, all electronics would’ve been fine..that’s how small the splash was. Everyone else stayed dry. They said we could take cameras and that no one usually gets wet...it was nice and easy. The scenery from the raft is top notch. Views of the Fairmont, a few different peaks, and Hoodoos. Our guide was very experienced and had many good tips and good knowledge about the history of the water in the area. Our whole family loved this experience. We had 2 adults, a 24 yr old with a disability, a 13 yr old, and an 8 yr. old (who had been quite nervous about the ride prior to its start).

Had an amazing weekend in Banff at Irwin's Mountain Inn and the Gondola ride up sulphur mountain. We also went for a boat cruise on Lake Minnewanka. All staff at both businesses were very friendly and well informed. I would highly recommend anyone to use the BANFF ADVENTURES website to book their next ADVENTURE.

....Complete with hot cocoa and cookies :) We booked our excursion in October to ensure that we would be able to go on a dogsled tour when we were in Banff. Out musher was Tanya, and she and her team took us for a 2 hour ride through some absolutely breathtaking scenery. They picked us up at our hotel as scheduled, and returned us in plenty of time for us to stroll through town. These people did a great job - 100% recommend!!

We purchased a KHMR Adventure Pass through Banff Tours and it was the worst organized and biggest money grab I have ever seen. First of all the information on what it actually was was not at all accurate. It said you would tour a grizzly reserve and see grizzlies. The first issue is that nowhere did it say that this took place two hours outside of Banff in BC, not even in Alberta. When we realized where it was located we had already booked our tickets but thought “we’ll it will be worth it to see wildlife”. We drove two hours only to arrive there with ZERO idea about where to go to check in. The resort was busy with a mountain biking tournament so we stood in several lines trying to talk to someone who knew something and nobody seemed to know. We couldn’t find anywhere to check in. Finally someone told us we could take the chair lift up the mountain. We boarded the chair lift which was a 40 minute ride with constant stopping to get to the spot of the grizzly reserve. Well it’s actually just a little fenced in area where 1 grizzly apparently lives. Although we didn’t even see the grizzly and the guide said in the last few days only a couple people had actually glimpsed the bear at all. In all honesty we wouldn’t even have needed to pay the $170 to do this because nobody checked us in anywhere. We could have ridden the chair lift to see nothing for free. Complete waste of time and money and SO poorly organized. Do not, I repeat, do NOT waste your time or money!

Hello Thanks for the review. Let me take the time to address your concerns. You booked the Kicking Horse Mountain Grizzly Bear Refuge online. There are a few options to choose from for this package. You can check out the sightseeing gondola (with an amazing view from the top) or you can package it with the Grizzly Bear refuge. As our website states, this is a 20-acre area that is home to the orphaned grizzly bear, Boo. There is also an interpretive centre to provide guests with the opportunity to observe Boo going about his daily routine. There is only 1 grizzly bear in this habitat. When you book online, you receive an email confirmation that advises you to go to guest services at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Once at guest services, they direct you to either a chairlift (for the grizzly bear) or to the Gondola. I am sorry there was a mountain bike tournament on that day, but Kicking Horse Mountain is also a popular place to downhill mountain bike. I am sorry you found the experience unorganized. I will make sure I pass along this feedback to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. We book on behalf of Kicking Horse Mountain (we don’t operate it). A lot of our team have been on this excursion and found it be a fun, family experience. There is even a policy that if you don’t see Boo during your initial visit you can return for another FREE tour. Our website clearly states (before you click the booking page), that this attraction is located in Golden, BC. Once you advised us of your experience, we actually fully refunded your tour in full. I am unsure how else we could have handled the situation. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in the area. Kind regards Banff Adventures team

We had booked a snowshoe tour through Banff Adventure. Since there was no pick-up service for our accommodation, we decided to arrive with our own car.

I had asked to send me the meeting point by e-mail. I could not open the address of the meeting point in Google Maps but in Apple Maps. When asking about the meeting point by phone we were told to come to the gondola. So we did. We made our way to the next gondola from the location indicated by Apple Maps. We waited at the Banff gondola. But the meeting point was the Sunshine Village gondola.

In my opinion this is a classic communication problem. We got a link that our German mobile phones opened wrong (both Android and Apple). This can happen. Even though we lost 3 hours through trips and phone calls, everything would have been okay if Banff Adventure would have shown a gesture of goodwill. No matter if with another tour or with a refund, but none of that happened.

Although we drove to the agency to show that the link opens with a wrong location, they didn't show goodwill. In addition to half day of holiday we also lost a lot of money. The reason was that Banff Adventure works with someone who would charge the money. That may be, but I think that the costs could at least have been shared. In my opinion it's not possible to say whose fault it was. I think it's not fair that we now have to pay for the damage completely.

I can definitely not recommend booking tours through Banff Adventure.

Hello Thank you for your comments I would like the opportunity to clarify a few points in your review. As mentioned you booked a snowshoe tour at Sunshine Village online. After you booked you were sent a confirmation email providing driving directions to the meeting location. As you were not staying in Banff, you decided to meet at the Sunshine Gondola for your tour. You emailed us separately to ask about the meeting location and address. We sent you an email the day prior to the tour with the actual address of the Sunshine Gondola and indicated that it was approximately 30-40 minutes from Banff. I am sorry that Apple Maps directed you to the Banff Gondola, however we did you give you actual driving directions so you didn't have to use the app. I totally understand this was a communication error, but as explained, we book this tour on behalf of the snowshoe company and they had a guide waiting for you at the Sunshine Gondola. Christmas is a very busy time in Banff, so unfortunately, as a guide was booked to take you out, they were not prepared to offer a refund for your tour. Once again, we are sorry you missed your tour.

Warning!!!! This is a third party booking agency that only cares about making money and not the care of your trip and experiences. We booked a trip to the Ice fields and prepared to leave Canmore with ample time to arrive, check in and explore a bit before our tour of the glacier. During our drive we experienced several road construction delays that took up precious time to make it to our tour in time. There was over an hour delay at the bridge just before the glacier park that we never received any courteous emails, phone calls etc informing us to adjust our time for the traffic delays. The traffic was so bad the people were getting out of their cars and walking around during the hour long wait. We are not from Canada so there's no way we would have know ourselves. When we contacted the agency a representative named Jayson told us that it's our fault and they will not offer a refund but would book us another day which wouldn't work for us because of itinerary conflicts. How is construction delays a customers fault? How horrible of him to say. I informed the agency that I have photographic proof of the construction delays but again he did not care. I will attach photos here. This agency is unethical.

Thank you for your review and allowing us the chance to explain what happened. We are sorry that you missed your tour, and of course this is not our typical guest experience. We would like to take this opportunity to respond to some of the accusations and inaccuracies in your review. You booked tickets online for the Columbia Icefield Adventure. You were provided with a confirmation email which included meeting times, driving directions plus a link to Google maps (which shows current traffic conditions). During your journey to the icefields, you called and said you left Canmore at 9:30am and were running late due to having to purchase a park pass, so we pushed back your tour from 12.30pm to 12.45pm. Leaving Canmore at 9:30am would not have given you ample time to arrive, park and check in, regardless of the traffic conditions. We appreciate there may be delays on route however, this would change hourly and daily, depending on volume and is not something we monitor (there is also no cell service on most of the journey). The icefield staff do advise us if there are major delays or accidents. However, this was not the case on this day. Despite your experience and the photos showing possible delays, we had a total 50 guests booked in for the Columbia Icefield Adventure yesterday, (some at earlier times slots and some at later time slots) and they all made their tours on time. You were the only group that contacted us yesterday to say that you missed the tour due to traffic. Despite having a 48-hour cancellation policy, as a gesture of good will we offered you a reschedule to the next available time slot for the tour. We were not authorized to provide a refund from the Tour Operator, just a reschedule as it is a popular and mostly sold-out experience. We feel we offered a fair and reasonable solution for you, which unfortunately you declined when you made the decision to drive home. We do not share your views of us being unethical and do not appreciate you calling our staff names. Jason has been calm and polite in every interaction and we uphold excellent service standards as you can see in other reviews. We wanted to advise that you actually received a refund for the tour.

We booked a walk to Larch Valley and back from Moraine Lake, as we enjoy hiking but were unsure about walking in bear country. The excursion included pick and drop off from our hotel in Banff.
Our guide, Kelsey, was brilliant. She was hugely knowledgeable, very sociable and really added to the day.
Because of the large numbers of people trying to visit Moraine Lake and the parking restrictions, this is a much better way of visiting.
The walk itself is about 12km in total. The climb is not too steep, however Kelsey was sure to make sure that everyone could manage, and took plenty of stops, which allowed for more questions!
A packed lunch was provided, along with additional water, rucksacks and poles for those who wanted.
Everyone felt completely safe throughout the day.
Thank you Kelsey for making it such a great day out.

We did not book any guided trips with Banff Adventure but rented ice cleats to do hiking. They were so incredibly helpful and friendly. They even gave us suggestions for some not so well known trails that ended up being absolutely amazing!! I would highly recommend using them for any of your winter equipment rental or tours.

The Johnson Canyon Tour was a fantastic experience. Our guide Tyler did an amazing job, he was entertaining, friendly and knowledgeable and went go out of his way to ensure everyone had a safe experience. Seeing Johnson Canyon in the spring is truly unique and beautiful.

Banff Adventures are truly fortunate to have a staff member like Tyler.

Banff Adventures is a kind, considerate, and compassionate organization dedicated to making guests wildest dreams come true. I took my tour group on the Lake Louise Gondola Tour, the Tea House Hike, and the Hoodoo Float Tour and my teenage participants were absolutely blown away. With some larger adventure tour companies, you are just a dollar amount and they treat you as such, but with Banff Adventures, from the initial outreach to the post-visit, we were treated with tremendous respect. Huge shout out to Hannah, Group Sales Supervisor, for being the best in the business.
