Soar to the top of Sulphur Mountain to experience a stunning bird's-eye view of six incredible mountain ranges. With breathtaking vistas in every direction, your adventure begins with an eight-minute journey to the summit of Sulphur Mountain in a modern, fully enclosed four-passenger gondola cabin. Glide up over the treetops to the crest of a steep-sided Rocky Mountain peak and step out into a jaw-dropping mountaintop experience at an elevation of 2,281 metres (7,486 feet). Stroll along the ridgetop boardwalk where the views get better with every step. Then warm up in our newly transformed, state-of-the-art summit facility. With new restaurants, interactive interpretive exhibits, a multi-sensory theatre and a breathtaking 360-degree rooftop observation deck, the new Banff Gondola summit heightens every sense.

We went right after a good sized snowfall. When got to the top the views were clear, but that changed quickly. The mountain top is much different than being in town, dress appropriately. When we arrived the walkways had not been shoveled yet. We didn't...More

It's pricey, but the views are amazing! I'd try to go during weekdays when possible. We were there on a Monday early morning (at the time the gondola opened) and had the place almost to ourselves for quite a bit. In the summer it's crowded...More

I think we were spoilt by Whistler. The Banff Gondola is just overrun. Best to go as late as possible (after dinner) in the evening to stand a chance of getting up and back whilst avoiding the queues.More

It is VERY expensive. The view is pretty but you can find it in a mountain tour for example. The gondola tour is 10 minutes, at the top you can go to the top of a mountain; is not a waste of money but if...More

This is an amazing attraction, whether you are coming from near or far. Great views of the city, and surrounding area. I suggest going on weekdays as it can get pretty busy on weekends and peak months.

Took this for the first time last month, and though it is not the most amazing gondola I've ever ridden, it has great vistas. Saw some frozen waterfalls along with the obvious peaks, cliffs, etc. It also turns left halfway up, which is unique.
