Just wasn't as advertised. Whole experience was just not great. Multiple tables around us had food complaints. Nightrise just wasn't close to what was advertised.

This is false advertising - don't do it! It is basically a dark ride up the mountain (so you can't even enjoy the views) then there are lights in the buidling at the top - which could be seen anywhere. The entire walkway is dark and therefore you can't even enjoy the entire experience. Don't waste your money!

I went to Nightrise at the gondola and really enjoyed the experience. However, you have to take your time to make the most of it. Ultimately it's immersive art so it's worth sitting and listening to the sounds, watching the video projections, interacting with the lights and have fun making music outside with the interactive elements!
My tips would be to head up to catch sunset from the top viewing deck. Dress really warm and it's freezing up there! Stay outside and check round every corner for all the extra bits. Go inside and make your way slowly down. Sit in the beanbags and enjoy the light show, watch the lights and music outside as they change a lot over a few hours. Listen to all the recordings of sounds and voices which are beautiful.
I'd also like to add a big thank you to the lady on the ticket desk from Essex (sorry I didn't get your name!) who was really lovely and helpful.

My mystical, magical, cosmic journey….was alright I suppose. It was pretty cold but I suppose that wasn’t the gondolas fault.

We were really swept away by the views. The staff at Sky Bistro were wonderful and we learned a lot. The museum aspect was unexpected and a great touch to learn more, being we aren’t from Alberta. The whole experience was longer than expected, and that was a good thing.
I suggest going all out to get the meal package and spend some time enjoying the whole experience. Well worth it all!

Visited with as part of a group from Lake Louise. Had a fantastic visit to the Gondola, it was a clear day so the views were incredible. Walked over to the weather station to take it all in. All the staff we met along the way were incredibly helpful and friendly. Special mention to Jade & Gandi at the ticket desk. (Mon 30th Jan)

Can you take dogs on the gondola?
Brody Whiteman

Hello Joe,
I can confirm unfortunately pets are not permitted inside the gondola or Gondola buildings/terminals.
The exception to this rule is service dogs with the correct paperwork are permitted up and down on the gondola and inside our gondola buildings.
You are more then welcome to hike up the trail and bring your dog onto our boardwalk deck at the Upper Terminal, however, you just cannot bring your pet inside the building itself.
Kind regards,
Brody (Banff Gondola Supervisor)

You would take the Roam 1 bus closest to Wolf street. Check times at roamtransit
Dress warm!! It’s cold at the top.
Can I go to the Gondola if I am an International traveller? I am double vaccinated in my home country... Will the Arrive can record help to proof this?

Hello Camper56979971821:
You are welcome at the Banff Gondola.
You must be fully vaccinated to join our facilities.
You must show us an original proof of vaccination and a government ID.
Can my 3 kids join me and my husband on the gondola or will we be split up ?

Not sure but should be fine if you're part of one family. There's certainly room for 4 comfortably. Call to make sure they're running during the lock down.

I was looking at the dinner package but we are coming in June. With the 2 hour time limit it wouldn’t give us much time to explore with dinner.Do you get extra time because of the dinner?

Hi there, I’m in a bit of a problem right now. I purchased some tickets online, as a gift for my friend, but I entered the wrong email address by mistake :( And I don’t have an account online to access these tickets. Would my friend still be able to go on the gondola just providing her name and confirmation number?? Idk what to do :( TIA
Tabita M
Banff National Park, Canada
Hello. You can call our reservation Team. They will be able to find the tickets by name and can correct the email as well.
If I purchase a ticket to go up the Gondola at 11:10. Can I come back down whenever I want?
Tabita M

Hello Climber18169038468:
Right now (Winter time) is not busy, so you can come back down any time.
In Summer time we are very strict with the upload and download time due to the high volume of people in our attraction.
We hope to see you soon
